I'd like to help, but I am not sure what is going on. I am not familiar with the root process with the dinc2 yet, but have rooted other devices. It looks like the zip is installing ok.Can you post a link to the root instructions you are using? What recovery are you using? Is it clockwork recovery?
go back to about page 2 or 3 for things i followed!

What recovery are you using? Is it clockwork recovery? the recovery that is on the phone when i go into that mode.
It looks like some people are having problems with superuser over at xda. Try this. Go to applications then manage apps and find super user in app list under all tab. Click on superuser and clear data if you can. Then go to app drawer and open superuser. Then open a root app like titanium backup and let me know if superuser window pops up to allow.
cleared data then list was blank
wait!!!....
ok just went back to open up titan back up and it opened!
so did wireless tether!!
i am in!!! WOWSA!!!
YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!
only question is now...why is my linpack speeds slower than before did this!?
quadrant still shows as the fastest and phone is so fast right now anyway!

Alright. I am glad it is working As long as it gives you the option to allow superuser for root apps you should be ok. I am not sure why linpack is lower, maybe the kernel got changed with root, I am not sure.
I have never rooted a phone before but do have a *tiny* bit of Unix/linux experience...but I would *much* prefer to use the Windows method of rooting my Incredible 2.
If indeed the Windows way is working now, can someone please point me to where to get started on this?
