Root on Incredible 2

Well hoorah!!!!!

I did it this morning!
after trying all night almost!
and now i have it rooted!!!
this phone is totally more awesome than it was!
thanks to the fellow dinc2 owner on here! LOL
who was up late too!
thank you!
i just tried again and it went!
i took battery out again as you said, did recovery, chose to install from sd card and WHAMMO!!! within a few seconds (literally) i was done!
rebooted and it was complete!!

I UNINSTALLED ALL THE JUNK....but
cant use wireless tether!!!it asks me if i am rooted!
why would that be!!??
any help?
should i uninstall tether & reinstall?

my speeds show slower with linpack than before rooted but my quadrant shows like lightining! and the phone itself is VERY fast!!!
why would it show slower though!?

hbsurfer so happy for you! Use Barnacle for wifi tethering once you're rooted. I work nights so it was fun trying to help out.

total message i get now for barnacle

wireless tether asks me if it's rooted!
barnacle says: barnacle requires su to access the hardware. please make sure you have root access."

so what can i do!?
and anyone have any idea why my linpack speed is slower now that it's rooted! but it is still very fast!!

Do you have the superuser app installed? Do you have full root? Try using an app to test root like titanium backup. Also do you have the correct version of tether?

Also do you have the correct version of tether? I HAVE WIRELESS TETHER!

It sounds like you don't have root. An error must have happened in rooting process. Do you get any kind of message when you open superuser? There are multiple versions of tether, not all work.

I open su and don't get any messages.
it said I have root on my dinc2!
when i open su it just shows apps and the only thing on there is root uninstaller with a green dot!
how can i know if i have full root!?
something must not be right! right? LOL
