rubiX Focused 1.6

I dont know if these is possible in a future Rubix ROM but i figured I would mention it

Is it possible that when you are at the home screen the clock in the notification bar disappears , once you have opened an application like a webpage or when you are on a call (and you cant easily revert to the home screen) the clock reappears in the notification bar for easy reference

I have LauncherPro installed and I there it has a feature that allows you to hide the notification bar. It reappears when you, say, open a browser or anything else that isn't really the homescreen. Free base app/paid for added widget support.

Or is it that you just want the clock gone? Forgive me if that's the case.

As nooby as this sounds where do I go to set the double click home button.. I was so used to having my browser set as that and bow I can't find it

Anyone know a workaround to set speed dial numbers for contacts?
Or since the bug is there, it's not possible at all to configure the numbers?

This is a known issue. :( Unfortunately. Speed dial actually works (If you hold down the number 1, I believe it will actually speed dial your voicemail.. :S
BUT, there isn't a way to configure it. :(

Don't know of a work-around at this time.

If all you want is the notification bar hidden, don't need LPP for that. ADW (default launcher for Focused) can do that as well.. *shrug*
Menu> ADW Settings> Screen Preferences> check the "Hide StatusBar" checkbox.

BUT, I get the feeling that he just wants the clock to be hidden.. not the entire bar!

Darn :(
What if I flashed back to stock rom, set the speed dials, and then put in rubiX 1.6?
But then, when you put in rubiX, it clears all data, so the results would be the same, right?
I guess there isn't a way yet.
I just get so tired of having to go into contacts to call the same 3-4 people, haha.
But oh well, I'll wait until there is a fix.

I did some digging through the /data/ folder and found some references to the speeddials in /data/data/com.android.phone/shared_prefs. However, I have not yet figured out how to affect changes.

In the meantime, I recommend Dialer One:
Dialer One - Android app on AppBrain

I use it as my default dialer anyway. It supports T9 searching through your contacts list (anyone comming from WinMo knows how awesome this is) and does have functioning speed-dial.

You may also want to consider putting 'Quick Dials' on one of your home screens for those people you call most.
<LongPress on Screen> - <Shortcuts> - <Direct Dial> -<pick contact>

Thanks for this GREAT APP suggestion!
I can even set my #1 to a number!
I never ever use my voicemail so this was a great +++ for me, haha.

So I'm having a small problem that I haven't been able to figure out.

Anytime I boot into recovery to apply a zip (theme, app, etc), I'm not able to see any individual files in the root of the SD card when I go to choose which zip I want to apply. It only shows me all of the folders in root, but not any of the individual files.

I have still been able to apply them by simply going into my Downloads folder and applying them from there so it's not that big of a deal. Just wondering why it doesn't show any individual files in root.

Anyone care to take a guess at it?

if there in the downloads folder that is why.. If its on the root of the SD card just keep scrolling down untill you find them.

I love this rom. Big step up from the last one!

Anyone know how I can use some of the blur apps like the toggle widgets and the Blur alarm clock. I installed the apk's but they just open for a second and close. These are the only blur apps I do miss as the stock alarm clock to me gives more options and and easier snooze ability.

I did use root explorer and moved them to system/app first and mounted. Thanks to all in advance and to the mastermind behind this brilliant rom my phone is soooo fast and lasts twice as long than before!

I use the Maize Digital Clock Widget which has an option to take you to the blur alarm clock on click. Other than that, I couldn't figure out how to get to it. I didn't find any other clock widget that took me there.

Do you really want an easier snooze ability on an alarm clock, though? ;)
