rubiX Focused 1.6

So I'm having a small problem that I haven't been able to figure out.

Anytime I boot into recovery to apply a zip (theme, app, etc), I'm not able to see any individual files in the root of the SD card when I go to choose which zip I want to apply. It only shows me all of the folders in root, but not any of the individual files.

I have still been able to apply them by simply going into my Downloads folder and applying them from there so it's not that big of a deal. Just wondering why it doesn't show any individual files in root.

Anyone care to take a guess at it?

Try resetting recovery... ? One of the methods listed in the link below will reset recovery, and should solve the issue..
Only other reason I can think of for this happening, is perhaps a super long filename, or a corrupt file/invald characters that recovery listing doesn't like (?).
Help I've lost ClockWork recovery, my phone just reboots back into android

HTH!

I love this rom. Big step up from the last one!

Anyone know how I can use some of the blur apps like the toggle widgets and the Blur alarm clock. I installed the apk's but they just open for a second and close. These are the only blur apps I do miss as the stock alarm clock to me gives more options and and easier snooze ability.

I did use root explorer and moved them to system/app first and mounted. Thanks to all in advance and to the mastermind behind this brilliant rom my phone is soooo fast and lasts twice as long than before!

--Toggle widgets- I believe there is a PowerControl widget, but no individual widgets for each... hit the market, tons of options though.

--Blur Alarm Clock- I believe someone figured out how to get it working, but I'd be careful... (the modify to the packages.xml can cause all kinds of issues if not careful):
Adding blur alarm to Fission ROM - xda-developers

To be honest, I HIGHLY recommend Alarm Clock Plusv2:
Alarm Clock PlusV2? - Android app on AppBrain

But have seen recommendations for Alarm Klock from others in the Focused threads due to lack of BLUR alarm:
Alarm Klock - Android app on AppBrain

I use the Maize Digital Clock Widget which has an option to take you to the blur alarm clock on click. Other than that, I couldn't figure out how to get to it. I didn't find any other clock widget that took me there.

Do you really want an easier snooze ability on an alarm clock, though? ;)

In the above mentioned Alarm Clock Plusv2 app... you can set it to require you to solve a math problem before it will snooze, or dismiss (both check boxes).. while the alarm is quieted down as you do the math problems... Believe you can even set it to make you do multiple math problems... *shrug*

I also recommend that if you use the default increasing volume setting.. that you change the "allow auto snooze, and allow auto dismiss" options, turn them off... made it too easy to sleep through an alarm, as just when the alarm reached full volume for a min, it snoozed. O.o

Also like the shake to snooze option (off by default)... :)

Play with it.. I'm pretty confident you'll have a hard time going back to the blur alarm after you get it set up how you like it....

This is a blurrless ROM! if you want blurry junk use one of those ROM's :). The creator has stated many times the blur framwork is not there and will not be put in, which I for one am thankful. There are many apps on the market to replace most anything you want.

Remove screens with the X below them.

I have a question, after installing this ROM do we have to call a number and reactivate our phones? And if so how do we do this?

Thank you for your help

Shouldn't be necessary, but if it requires you to do so, it will prompt you to. If you ever need to reprogram, pretty sure it's just *228, and follow the prompts.

Ok before I install this ROM, when I use Bootstrap and boot into this is where we wipe all data and everything right? Then after that is where I will need to install the ROM thru the zip file on the SD card right?

But it will walk me thru all of this as the steps come up right?

Again thanks for anwering all of my questions, I have read the first post which tells step by step, but just wanted to be sure.:):)dancedroiddancedroid

Yes, from the recovery menu you boot into via the Droid X Bootstrapper app, you will clear data/cache, and install .zip from SDCard, choose .zip from SDCard, select the .zip, and say yes. When it's done installing, hit the back button on your phone, and select reboot.

Enjoy!

Hi Everyone...

Been running Rubix focused 1.6 for about a week now and I really love it. I have no themes installed yet as I like to do things in small steps. I am having a problem that just started today in that I am completely unable to send a MMS message. Standard SMS is fine. I am using Handcent. Any suggestions?

The ROM is version 1.6, the same version that it was when this thread started (with the exception of the low voltage issue being fixed...). The stuff on my site that states it is for 1.6, is just that.

The stuff on my site is UNOFFICIAL. The way drod put out the ROM, is the way it was meant to be. My site doesn't contain fixes, it contains patches to put stuff on the ROM that it wasn't intended to contain... and that content is .. for the most part unsupported.

Was there something specific that you had questions about?

*Edit: Themes, the BlackJuice theme and Incognito series (the ones specifically for 1.6) seem to be good choices. A barmod is also considered a theme (as it replaces the same file(s) as the themes).. so any blackbar mod designed for Focused 1.x are good choices as well. :)

Is the low voltage something that is already fixed or is it going to be a patch/update? I was under the impression from reading early on in this thread that the rom came with stock clock and stock voltage and you could change/set them if you wanted too. Is this correct?
