I have a question on your comments,
1) What app's should we back'up before we install a new Rom coming from a stock phone?
2) And what ones do you not to want to even mess with?
The reason I ask is I have read that you should install each app one at a time fresh after each Rom install, because when you use your back'up program to restore them. That it can cause some issues because they don't play well with others!
Please give your input on this for me. Again thank you for everything you are doing for all us with your hard work here!!!! And the patchs you supply for the users here!!
What great questions!!!
"1) What app's should we back'up before we install a new Rom coming from a stock phone?"
--There are 2 schools of thought to this.
The first, is that you should backup and restore everything... some people even go to great lengths to avoid the google data sync by not putting in their google account, so they can restore their apps and data using a backup application.
The other belief is that backups can cause issues, so if they can be avoided, especially by installing things correctly, then it might be worth the extra 15 minutes of configuring everything.
I lean towards the second, for a simple reason.
Something backed up from a ROM, and restored to the same version ROM, are very unlikely to cause issues. However, Nandroid backups are better for this situation anyway. But it is rare that you actually need to restore data to the same ROM, usually it's when switching back and forth that you want to backup/restore...
If you are switching from one install/ROM to something different, backups are way more likely to cause something to be restored that could be incompatible.

--I've tried MyBackup and Titanium.. and didn't like the 30 day limitation on MyBackup, and hated the hundred or so issues posted that have in some way been linked back to titanium... so *shrug*.
Of those that rely heavily on backup clients, most of the time most of them don't have issues.
IF you're going to use a backup client...the best recommendation I have is stay away from restoring anything that relates to system... wifi settings, bluetooth settings, ANYTHING settings/system related.
App and data restores are almost always safe... The most common issue, is you have to clear data/cache for an application if it FC's, or doesn't sync, or whatever (often negating the purpose of restoring it in the first place..).
My method:
Use backups like insurance.. take out a policy, and hope you never need to use it.
I'm probably a little over-paranoid.. but it has saved me from having issues in the past, so ... I'll keep it this way, unless I find a reason I really need to keep something backed up, like text messages, or (??).. guess I'll find out someday?
Edit: I think the most common reason I have seen so far for wanting to back stuff up.. was Angry Birds. I suppose if you have hours invested into something, it might be worth backing up the data for that app... no matter what it is. Then again, I also believe there is a write-up on how to make a backup by copying a directory over to the SDCard from Angry Birds.. so.. either way.. worth mentioning. : )
