rubiX Focused 1.6

Hi Everyone...

Been running Rubix focused 1.6 for about a week now and I really love it. I have no themes installed yet as I like to do things in small steps. I am having a problem that just started today in that I am completely unable to send a MMS message. Standard SMS is fine. I am using Handcent. Any suggestions?

Weird, tested this tonight, I can send pics/etc. (MMS) fine via handcent. How are you sending that's not working? Can you provide steps to recreate?

Yes...thus was a weird deal....here is what I think happened and maybe you can tell me if my theory is valid....it had been working fine up until I had one of those random reboots right when I pressed the send button....after that no more send for mms but I still could receive mms and send receive regular texts...I figured the random reboot corrupted something. This morning I tried my wifes blackberry just to see if it was network related but it sent to my phone just fine. So I tried wiping the cache and that didn't fix it so I just wipe data/cache and reinstalled the ROM and now it seems to be fine. The only thing I haven't done different today is run the cpu script. I noticed that the random reboots started occurring after I had done that but it was very infrequent. I used the ulv 100000, 800000, 500000, 350000 settings and I noticed a significant battery improvement but also started the reboots although it wouldn't do it but maybe once every two or three days so I just thought it was a glitch being that it is a known bug. But in thinking about it, before I ran the cpu script, I had never experienced it. So I may try a different setting and see what happens...im kinda new to all of this so I just try things in small steps.

Were you, by chance, using Autostarts? Or another program that does similar by adjusting when an app can start? I found that I messed up my ability to send MMS briefly at one point because I disabled something with the stock messenging app in Autostarts. Once I re-enabled that it worked again.

No I was just sending a pix text when the random reboot hit me....after that ....

Is Handcent better than the Stock Messaging app for this rom?
I prefer Handcent as well..used on my D1 and now on my Dx...has lots of options for notifications, themes, fonts..etc. try it!
Indeed! Handcent rocks! If you don't like the look of it, you can cjange the appearance so it's like the stock Messaging app, but with more options...
I also had it on my D1 and I still prefer it on my DX... if you don't like it, you can always uninstall, no harm done! ;)

So I just switched from ApeX to RubiX and I really like this ROM. Seems to be a little snappier, and I love the 10% battery increments.

There's only two problems I've noticed with this ROM:

1) The multitouch keyboard is not included, so it doesn't have the speech to text option for texting, Gtalk, etc.

1) Multi-Touch kbd: http://www.sephtin.com/rubiX/rubixFocused-PATCH-DefaultFocusedKeyboard.zip

Is there a way to go back to the original keyboard that comes with this ROM and have voice to text enabled?

I've always hated that the multi-touch keyboard doesn't correct simple words like im to I'm or il to I'll, and then whenever you type a symbol it puts it next to the last letter typed so you have to go back and put a space between them. (example: If I type "It's $4.00" it automatically removes the space between the s and the $ symbol so it looks like this It's$)

Pretty sure the keyboard that's stock with Focused 1.6 is the AOSP keyboard.
Give this a shot:

I use swype, so really easy for me to get them all mixed up. :S
HTH!

Did I read that there is a new ROM coming out from Drod2169? Or did I misread something?

Was just wanting to know before I install this 1.6 bad boy!!! dancedroiddancedroid

I know drod is actually working on it this evening, but from what I understand, it's still a ways from being ready to release.
When it's ready (TM), it'll be here. :)
