Ok....so I upgraded to 1.8.9, but the crazy thing is.....it still says 1.8.6

just updated from 1.8.6 to 1.8.9 and it still shows 1.8.6 in the settings > about.

can anyone else confirm this?

I have the same issue...because I updated without wiping data and cache. I understand the way to fix that is to wipe data and cache.

For clarity... wiping data or cache will not change this. Drod didn't change a line in a text file to update the version prior to releasing this.
It's totally fine.. no wiping of anything necessary.

The ONLY difference between the FRAMEWORK in 1.8.6, and 1.8.9 are the transitions. You can safely use ANY 1.8.6 theme to have a theme, and not have the transitions.

yes i realize that but the only themes i could really find for 1.8.6 were the juice ones. i just want it to look stock vanilla? how would i grab the framework form rubix 1.8.6? can i take the old framework out of the zip and overwrite it in the 1.8.9 then reinstall 1.8.9 with the old framwork?

Or you can just use Spare Parts to disable the animations...

No...Drod forgot to edit that one line of text which states the version number from 1.8.6 to 1.8.9, that is all...if you installed 1.8.9 and you aren't having any issues, there's no need to worry. with the massive amount of people questioning this again and again, I'm sure he won't forget to change it with the next update
