rubiX Focused 1.8.9/1.9.3

I got the phone today brand spankin new. Rooted it and installed clockwork and bootstrap. Installed rubix, wiped cache and data. Then I grabbed this theme flavored ice-Dar Berry which states it for rubix 1.8.9. That was it.

I suggest starting over and holding off on a theme until you make sure it's all working right. Maybe there is a problem with that theme.

ok I went back to my stock rooted backup. I'll try flashing again once my battery is charged and report back.

kinda pissed right now...finally went back to 2.1 and did the 2.2 OTA...i was sick of the extra steps needed to sbf while on the leak..i would have to root 2.1...then install the leak..then root...then flash focused...well today i was getting doudble text notifications..with and without handcent...i checked all settings...turned all vibrating off..and yet when i would get a text it would ring and vibrate randomly really fast a couple times then 2 seconds after it was done it would happen again..even tried renaming the stock msging app to get rid of it but still got double notifications...dont really know whats gonna happen im doing another sbf right now...i still have focused 0.5 on my sdcard and i need the 3g hotspot app so i figured i would try it again cause i need tethering for work tomorrow..i installed in the first time and it wouldnt get passed the M logo..then did the sbf and loaded it again this time trying mount system...it got to the rubiX boot logo and kept flashing and that was it...i used focused 0.5 lots of times before and never had problems..anyone know why it wouldnt work if im coming from a freshly sbfed phone with stock 2.2?

Something had to have been put back on..... do you use appbrain, or something that would have a list of the apps that you use (that I assume were reinstalled by Google Data Sync, as soon as you booted back into 2.2, and opened market for the first time? (appbrain, if you go to myapps, on the right hand side, there's a place to set your app list as public, send me a PM with the link, and I'll take a look *shrug*... only thing I can think of..

sorry i should have mentioned in my first post..i do not use anything at all to put my apps or data back..i install everything from scratch..but the thing is i didnt install anything at all except for recovery bootstrap...i just tried again for the third time...this is what i did...
1- fresh 2.2 sbf
2- sign into google and go to market and DL z4root (which i just started using the other day when i did the OTA)
3- root phone and install bootstrap
4- reboot into recovery wipe data and cache and install focused 0.5.zp

the first time i didnt mount system cause directions say not to and the second 2 times i mounted the system before installing...

makes no sense at all literally nothing installed just rooted and bootstrapped and i cannot get 0.5 to work..im on my 4th sbf now and trying to figure out if there is anything different i should do cause i really wanna get it working tonight so i have it for work tomorrow

That rules out most of the things I can think of.. only a couple things .. off the top of my head...

When you installed the them, did you boot into Focused first, and let everything sync, etc. before installing the theme? Or did you do one right after the other. I've heard of this causing issues.

Either way, since the theme is the only change, if you want to try to troubleshoot... one thing that might be worth trying:
--Install Focused 1.8.9 again, wipe cache but not data.. and don't load the theme, and see if you still get the reboots.

Last question I can come up with.. any specific time it's rebooting? As in, at the lock screen, or when using a specific app, or when you get a txt, or (??).

Ahh, Focused 0.5. Which version (There are 3... Focsued0.5, Focused0.5PATCHED, and Focused0.5FIX)?

IF it's the original 0.5, not only do you need to mount /system, but you need to format it. That could be it.. the latter two versions will format /system as part of the install, the first one doesn't...
I re-wrote the install script for drod in version .05PATCHED, and he then added more changes and version FIX was released... I know.. confusing. :S
I think I still have a copy, if you're not sure which you have.. I can get you the FIX version.. send me a PM.

Edit: Regardless .. can we please take the Focused 0.5 version issue conversation out of the 1.8.9/1.9.3 thread? ? Unless I misunderstood, and you're trying 1.8.x, or 1.9.x.. then please ignore.

The changes drod made.. improve performance and usability of the phone, but lower how your phone performs with heavy computational or high end 2D/3D grapics rendering... without hurting them to the point of making anything unusable... that in my opinion is way better than having a phone that is slow as hell, but having a high epeen number to see who's is bigger..

I did let all the apps install before themeing. I remember that from the last rubix. I don't recall a certain time. Once I was on the phone and the other it was just sitting there. My battery is charged. I'll try it now and report back. Wipe cache not data got it.

Edit: Just flashed and wiped cache. Its hanging on rubix.
Edit 2: I rooted with z4root first time I used it. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

I have the same issue...because I updated without wiping data and cache. I understand the way to fix that is to wipe data and cache.
