rubiX Focused 1.8.9/1.9.3

Think I found a fix. More testing must be done first :) I might just release the test build publicly tonight for more thorough testing

Did you find a fix for that tilt-sensor issue? Or was I the only one having it? I .sbf'd yesterday the problem did not exist on stock, or on SSX... and I don't recall having the issue on previous Focused versions either...

Btw, your work is awesome, the tilt thing is the only issue bugging me...

What tilt issue is that?

I believe the fix was editing build.prop to put back proximity to 450 from 150 per seph . Seems to have fixed my issues if that's what the mean....

Rubix keyboard question

Just installed Rubix focused last night w/Black Bar mod. Love it. I'm trying to get the Multi touch keyboard installed and having issues. Any suggestions? Or the correct steps to do it? I downloaded the DX2.2.1 zip from sephtin.com.

As far as my slowdown/lag issues, I started to think about what night have been different the first day I ha a this rom when I experienced no such issue, vs the last two days when I have experienced these issues. Also possibly battery life was better that first day too...

The only thing I can think of that was different that first day was that I used ADW launcher but have since switched to LPP. I'm gonna revert back to the ADW and see if the slowdown lag continues, and see if battery life seems better... So I'm just gonna re flash the rom. Question is, do I need to wipe cache/data? I'm guessing since I have a theme I need to wipe....

The slowdown is directly related to vm.vfs_cache_pressure. If going up to 50 hasn't helped, remove that line all-together. Could LPP be contributing? Maybe.

I would like to ask , how do we do this? I have never done this before, I am seeing slow downs after my phone has been used for awhile. But if I reboot, or turn my phone off then back on it seems to be running fine. Would this be from this vm.vfs_cache_pressure?

I also have no theme at this time but want to load one.

Thank you very much for your help! :)

I cannot get my computer to recognize my droid via USB. Here are the things I have tried.

Downloaded latest driver drivers from motorola
rebooted PC (WIN XP pro 32 bit)
unmounted SD card per another thread and remounted
left phone plugged in while rebooting computer
rebooted phone while plugged in

When I plug the phone in to the PC, it is charging but I just do not get the USB options and the droid sound and the USB symbol and the debuging symbol in the notification bar. I would appreciate any help. Been searching all morning and found nothing relevant or that works.
anybody...anybody?

You can use root explorer to go to /system/etc/sysctl.conf, open in text editor, and change it there.

Edit: and yes this sounds exactly like what I expect vm.vfs_cache_pressure to cause.

Nothing. You just need to hit the Mount R/W button at the top.

Which version of Focused did you install?

If you installed 1.8.9, then this one should work:
http://www.sephtin.com/rubiX/rubixFocused-PATCH-DefaultFocusedKeyboard.zip

For 1.9.3, I'm not sure if one has been confirmed as working... I threw the package together for the 2.2.1 .zip (the one you downloaded) together to TRY for 1.9.3, but haven't heard confirmation back as to whether or not it works. :S

Edit: And glad you're enjoying the ROM and BarMod! Feedback is always appreciated! :)

One way to revert back the settings for vm.vfs_cache_pressure, would be to load 1.8.6.

Would still love for someone who's done some testing on the battery issue to load up 1.8.6 and confirm if it resovles it.. if so, then we know that it's one of the tweaks specific to 1.8.9. IF it still exists in 1.8.6, then could be a framework issue...

well i loaded 1.8.6 today and im still doing some testing. i did an sbf last night, loaded 1.8.6, then my apps, and then loaded 1.8.9 on top of that.

i was still having some weird battery issues so went back to the the 1.8.6 and im not seeing too much of a difference yet. I do need to give 1.8.6 another day though. I did do battery stat resets in between so i know its calibrated.

So far, 1.8.9 does amazing while the phone is on sleep. but thats all i have to say.

I do notice that the CPU uses one thing a lot.... i cant remember the name, but its not overwhelming. its just a few minutes, but still more than what the others use.

-------------------------
im not too sure how things work, but i love trying out new roms so testing it is fun for me.

i will keep up the updates but im kind of anxious for UD and drod's next release

Anybody having problems with installing drivers I recommend using a nandroid to get back to stock 2.2 and then the drivers should install.

Worked first time for me after attempting to get them to work all sorts of ways while running Fission 2.1.

Then you can reflash your rom, I haven't reflashed a rom yet but I'm assuming that once I reflash a rom it should be able to pick up the drivers

Good feedback, thanks!

Also, Hope you don't mind, but I'd like to give you some constructive criticism regarding your site. :)
I'm all for sites that help people out, give tips/suggestions/etc. But I also strongly believe that credit should be given to where it is due.... even if it is a link back to a post, or thread, or whatever. Biggest example, is for the ROM Release notes, you blatently copy/pasted the first post of a ROM announcement, with no credit back to the dev/author, nor where to get support, or anything. (Pretty sure this is the case for Focused, and I know it is for the 2.3.320 leak..) That's bad form, I might suggest linking back to the source in your posts.. for the benefit of your readers, as well as those who are trying to do support. :)

Thanks!

Dont read too much into this because this is just a guess based on my experience First on the reboot thing..Im on droidx #2 now, the first one was a relase day x that would reboot on every single rom (with a mem manager installed) except for the slow as **** plain ol' stock ota. This phone also would not safely overclock past 1.1, which seems to be the case with every release day phone

Phone number 2 oc's easily, has never had a mem manager installed and has not rebooted yet on rubix, fission, Apex, 2.2 etc etc. connection, possibly. Unrelated but the physical construction and buttons feel more solid as well.

battery thing....Im close to 20 hrs now thanks to a long black friday. I run it at 1.3 oc ulv at boot and have been using Launcher2 pulled from fission2.2.1. Still at 50% off the charger yesterday around 10 pm. battery manager has behaved since wiping battstats in clockwork. anything odd in peoples batt manger? And could it be possible..maybe you got a bum battery??
