Have you tried booting into Bootloader and seeing if your computer recognizes THAT? just curious? possibly you'll be able to .sbf that way if need be?

A couple posts back someone made mention of the hardware being the culprit of issues being had by some folks while others have none and I agree completely. This is my first droid phone and only owned it for a month now. I followed the instructions for the leaked 2.3.320 and followed them to the letter upgrading from 2.2 with Rubix 1.6 installed. Took me all of give minutes and had zero issues. Phone runs faster than ever and I have nandroid backups for stock after upgrade and one with Rubix 1.9.3 etc. I actually get full bars reception in my home now for the first time and wifi reception is improved for me. Anyway my history is long time blackberry owner with most recent being two years with the dreaded storm 1. After years of installing leaked software and being active in the hybrid community I can honestly say the hardware from phone to phone as well as lingering software from previous builds makes it almost an individual experience when installing roms. That mixed with the inevitable "i will do it my way" people that skip a step such as data wipe and just clear cache make results so variable modders have their hands full keeping up with support.

The best thing to do when in doubt of upgrade is don't! I for one have always chosen the ocd overkill approach to rom installs that others will say is not necessary but I have never (knock on wood) had a single issue with new or referb devices. That process is simple...i follow the op instructions to the t and I wipe everything including sd card (backed up of course) and I clear all caches and reset batt stats every time I upgrade or change roms. I know the pro's will step in and bash the overkill but I am no developer so staying on the side of caution has always granted me success with phones. The guys making this rom and its supporting themes have done great things for the droid x and made me really love this devise, thanks. For everyone else all you can do is follow the instructions and if things still fail then its your device more than likely. Lastly remember when tinkering bricking is always one click away. Be prepared for it to happen as it is the risk you took the minute you put that zip or sbf on the phone. Not the modders fault.

I am having the exact same problem. I am restoring an older back up to see if I can narrow down when my pc stopped recognizing my DX...what did you do to get yours working, even if for a little bit. I have tried new drivers 4.7.1, various reboots, turning usb debugging off and various other things but no luck so far. No one has responded to my post either so i was beginning to think I was the only one having this issue..glad to see im not

ok...big problem here...I .sbf'd and now I'm stuck in a bootloop??? giong to try and reflash right now...If it doesn't work, what then? I don't understand why it wouldn't work, I've .sbf'd several times without a hiccup...

another thing I should point out is that I'm unable to use the factory recovery to wipe data/factory reset...I can use it to wipe cache, but not wipe data/factory reset...

Had this problem running Fission and now on Rubix, it's on the phone end for me because when it's plugged in and I run device manager it say's Droid X. It just doesn't show up on my computer.

The only way I got it to work was restoring back to rooted 2.2 stock.

I just restored a nandroid back to 1.8.6 and it worked fine so then i went to my backup of 1.8.9 without the dark berry theme and it worked fine...sooo now im reflashing my backup with the dark berry theme to see if it stops working...may have found the culprit although not sure why

That's interesting, I had a theme running on Fission when it wouldn't work and I also flashed Black Juice's blue theme before I bothered to check if the drivers worked with Rubix.. Let me know if the theme's are the culprit lmao

why does it say im running 1.8.6 when i installed 1.8.9?

Its supposed to. BTW, that question honestly has been asked and answered over 20 times in this post. Future reference, please read a few pages prior to asking questions. I know its time consuming but if you just load a rom, a lot of q/a's will be in the 1st few pages. This way, your question will not be ignored due to others getting tired of answering the same question over over over and over again..Just a thought ok..Nothing personal:)

Update.....it is working now! With the exact setup I had this morning that wouldn't work for love nor money. I do not know what to say "fixed" it but it appears to be working normally.
