rubiX Focused 1.8.9/1.9.3

Its a known Motorola issue. Drod said he believes it has to do with the phone searching for its security (blur) features while the phones locked.. then it obviously doesn't find most of it and reboots.. I use no lock now and haven't had that issue any longer. It takes some getting used to but its no biggie.

The five seconds it takes to reboot has never bothered me enough, especially when it only happens once every day or two.

I've been noticing the reboots at least once a day or more, on 1.8.9... sometimes even during phone call if I unlock screen...I do find this to be quite annoying, but I tried using other roms, and I've found that I seem to have gotten addicted to Focused... Drod's work is definitely worth the irritating reboots, haha!

YMMV with reboots. Since I got my phone a few weeks ago (4-5) and started at 1.6 I have had maybe 4 reboots all quite a few days apart.

Inkarnit, any idea when specifically we might see a release?

The release is nearly ready. More bug testing, and I want every one who's theming to be caught up. Who want's the rom with no themes? Can't be having that... Every themer I know of has a copy (waiting for Juice to get back from vacation/family time to get him his copy) but it's final. Done for the most part. 3 reports of being at 50% after 10 hours

Droid, what will be required to load the new version. I've got a new X on the way and I want to know what to do. 1 brick is 1 too many.

use z4root to root, then get bootstrap... and make sure you do a backup before anything.

the steps are the same as installing any other rom... dont forget to wipe data and cache.

The SBF you told me to use is the reason I am bricked now. Burn me once shame on me. Burn me twice shame on you.........I think I'll pass on your advise. Besides this was directed at droid2169.

When I tried z4root, it didn't work...I used a program called RootMyX2 which worked via my pc...no problems at all...

Juice! No holidays or vacations when Drod is holding a new rom! J/k...maybe....lol.

On a serious note battery on plain leak with no oc'ing is fifty percent after 13 hours of moderate use texting, games, calls, and checking this site for the new Rubix rom every 45 seconds. Works great and no reboots in 48 hours its been installed.

Does rubiX Focused 1.8.9 apply the leaked update.. I'm want to sbf my X but Im not sure which file to use ?

No.
10char

To add to this...
The LEAK changes the bootloader. Focused ONLY affects the /system partition, and doesn't touch the bootloader. So it won't affect .sbf'ing at all.

Edit for clarification: You still need to use the correct version... there is a version for those that have installed the leak, and for those who have not installed the leak. Neither will affect the bootloader.

HTH!

I have a question, when I go to reboot my phone it will stay on the M logo unit I pull my battery and put it back in, Then it will boot ok sometimes, and then sometimes it does not. been running Rubix 1.8.9.

Any thoughts of what I should do to stop this?

Thanks to all,

hmmm, usually it will do that for me after a new rom install but only that once.

If it does that too often, i do a data reset and cache reset.

Maybe you can just wipe cache and see if that helps.

I have seen some roms with the 'backup assistant' link removed from the settings.apk. Is this possible for rubix focused? i am trying to figure out how to do it myself.. but i have yet to succeed

I think the menu has been cleaned up in the next version... (?). If it's still in the next release of Focused, post again.
