USB Connection and Video Camera Issues

Ok, I'll ask again, has anyone had any issues with the USB connections????

It works the first time I connect it to my PC. If phyically disconnect and later physically reconnect it...nothing happens. It only will connect again after I reboot my DX. Rebooting the PC makes no difference. I can only connect again after rebooting my DX.

Also, my video camera is not working. It will switch to video mode using the slide switch within the picture camera. Press the Red record button and nothing.

I hate the Gallery for this rom, Can we somehow replace it w/blur gallery? I like the one in Apex and rummyx

Installed the leaked 1.9 and the Blur camera from sephtin, but the camera glitched after taking a picture and closed, losing the picture. Rebooted into clockwork mod, wiped data and cache, and did a fresh install of 1.9. Found that the video recorder is "busted"... only a black screen and no options are selectable. Had to go back to 1.9.3 for now.

Pandora starts but no audio.

Quadrant starts but on cpu test 11 it gives me an internal error during benchmark execution.

Camera starts, takes picture and hangs, doesn't save pic.

Glad to see it wasn't just me with camera problems.

In reply to everyone from before, I found the stock values to be:

300 27
600 38
800 50
1000 56

That was back when I took a look at UnstableApps' overclock app.

Btw, battery looking pretty good so far. 3 hours with 30 min of streaming audio over 3G and now at 80%.

In regards to Cell standby, my time without signal is always listed as 0%, so I doubt it's really draining anything.

my market is downloading all my apps a lot slower in this build. also when i look at my downloads that are redownloading some of them say installed but they have a download bar going still and are not installed on my phone.

i did a wipe before and after install

EDIT: rebooted and seems better now

To (hopefully) avoid some confusion.....
One of the things that Motorola did in the 320 (leak) version, is to try to "fix" the stability/random reboots. Their "fix".. was to bump up the voltages. No, I'm not kidding.

56 was the stock voltage for before the leak. 62 is the stock voltage for after. I think both sets of defaults are correct (without checking.. just from memory)... just from the 2 versions.

Odd... do you have stagefright enabled in build.prop by chance? Even with it enabled I didn't have issues playing Pandora and definitely not running a Quadrant so I doubt that's it. Sounds like a bad install somehow because all these things work on my phone...

Running the non-leak. Getting force closes when I try to change audio alerts/ringtones. Happening in settings as well as other apps. Anyone else have this?

I can change these at will without issue. Currently my ringtone is When The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash. I have seperate notifications for other programs. Never had an issue.

Not sure on the USB thing as I've not seen this issue before either. As for video, have you checked to see if stagefright is enabled? Some of the first downloads were with a stagefright enabled version and you would need to disable this in build.prop.

Your 3G speed is unaffected by the ROM. Just wait. It will restore everything over time, one at a time. The more stuff you have, the longer it will take. Give it some time.

My sig had my details. I'm really loving this ROM/theme combo. It's a welcomed change from 928DBGX. You've done some great work here. It's payday today so a few beers are heading your way this weekend :beer2:

I do have one issue or possible bug. My DX connects to my PC (Windows XP) just fine the first time. If I disconnect the USB connection and then reconnect it there is no response on my DX nor PC. I have updated the drivers on my PC and still nothing. Rebooting the PC has no effect. It's only when I reboot the DX does it then allow the USB connection.

I have not read about this issue from anyone else. Is this something that you can resolve?

This has been previously reported. I don't know of a fix... a few people have reported this issue with the 1.8.x and 1.9.x framework that Drod is using.
For now, if rebooting the phone solves it, then at least there's a work-around.

Ok, I was guided to repost here under the proper thread so this will look repetative.
Im updated to new leak 2.3.320. Flashed rubix 1.9.3, having no connectivity to web with wifi, drod 2169 suggested I reflash rom to rubix 1.9.0 wifi still not working. Also I was told the version numbers Got switched in this rom. Is anyone else having wifi problems?
Also, should I be concerned about the version number switch?

Ok. I only restore certain apps via titanium. I also flashed a restore back to stock froyo rooted with the leak and the wifi issue is still there. I will flash rubix 1.9.0 and see if issue persists.

On the other note. I flashed rubix 1.9.0. Wifi issue is still there. Any suggestions?

No, not intentionally. Hadn't noticed the name till right now. It actually goes as part of a nickname I have.

Suggestion:
Wifi works fine on the ROM, so must be something that has been done after the install...

--Reflash Focused, don't wipe data/cache. Test it again.
--If still having issue, wipe data/cache, test again.

One of the two will fix it. After one of them fixes the issue, make your changes one at a time until the issue pops back up. Let us know what it was.

So I never noticed before, but my sys version is 2.3.20. That being said, which version should I use? I'm currently on 1.8.6. Apologies if this is covered elsewhere....

I also noticed the version went back to 2.3.15. In 1.9.0. Should that have happened

The "version" is a line in a text file.
I think the intention was to keep it equiv. to Moto's build info.. as in:
2.3.20 had some 2.2.1 stuff in it, and 2.3.15 was all 2.2

Since the apps and some of the framework of 1.8.x and 1.9.x contain some 2.2.1 components... makes sense that it could/should read 2.3.20... but it's not really either.

I would get my hands on the 2.3.320 system only sbf, sbf that bad boy and test wifi. If it works, then re-install 1.9.0 Rubix and I'll bet it works.

For those of you lucky enough to download the "fixed" version of the ROM in the first couple hours... stagefright was unintentionally left enabled by drod.

This patch will fix those issues:

IF the camera is still having problems after this change, then try clearing data/cache for the camera:
Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage applications> all tab> camera
force stop, clear cache, clear data
Then see if it happens again.

This is normal. Until the framework is changed from the existing 1.8.x/1.9.x, this will remain to be the case.
