rubiX Focused 1.9.5

I'm downloading this ROM, but am currently running GummyJAR 2.1. Glad to know I can flash back and forth without doing a data wipe/factory reset every time. Is there a black themed Swype keyboard that will work with these ROMs? I really miss it!

Also, one of the things I love about GummyJAR (i assume it's the same with 1.9.5) is the shortened, tighter status bar, however when I applied a theme, it went back to the fat status bar. Will there be themes available that will keep the smaller status bar? I like it so much that I probably won't theme without it!

cannot reboot into recovery

I am at Rubix
1.8.9 and when I try to reboot to upgrade, the phone keeps locking up. Tried with clockwork and the "stock way" I want to get to 1.9.5

I installed the stock gingerbread themed rom. I found the 3g mobile hotspot in this rom. I wondered if this app is the same one that Verizon provides. Does it mean that Rubix1.9.5 containes blur or Drod2169 found way to make blur apps work without blur? I also found Darkslide 4.1 blurless rom also provides 3g mobile hotspot and FM. Blurless Darkslide4.1 actually containes blur?
How is the process that FM work under aosp rom? Impossible?

From the RubiX folder on SD card:
Connect your phone to your PC and select "Phone as Modem". You will get a notification that internal data will be disabled. Open Network and Sharing Center and create a new DialUpNetworking connection and configure as follows:
User Name: [email protected] where the Xs are your 10 digit MDN.
Password: vzw
Number to Dial: #777

Save and hit connect and you're done.

Does anyone use an app called cpu bench? I used to score 600-650 with the old framework (1.9) but now I'm scoring 750-800. 1.2ghz.

I uninstalled all my benchmarking apps after I ran it once and got a super low quadrant score when the phone was obviously running much faster than any stock VZW phone out there.

I just lost faith in the numbers after that.

I couldn't resist the urge to see meaningless numbers just now..installed quadrant and ran a 1900 with 1.95 running ULV 1.1 then uninstalled. Either way this rom is smokin fast for me and it kicks factory x ass.

I dunno. I can't shake the feeling that the old framework was somewhat snappier. I used to be on gummy and I went to rubix for precisely that reason, and the cpu bench was what justified it for me.

Now I'm basically back on gummy framework with rubix 1.9.5 and no upgrade path on the old rubix framework....

Perhaps I should stop obsessing over meaningless numbers and enjoy the awesome rom. :)

Correct. 340 and 320 only
would anyone be so kind to tell me how to get these updates? I'm currently on .15 and running rubix 1.9

You're going to have better luck checking the DroidX FAQ section, or the Technical help section, or .. maybe the ROMs section.. I know there are plety of people that have guides out, and all kinds of other info on how to update to the OTA (2.3.340) from a custom ROM.

There are a few ways that I know of to get updated to 2.3.340 (OTA). In short:
A) Get back to stock 2.3.15 via nandroid restore, or patch (Think FAB has a return to stock patch ??) so that you can take the OTA.
B) .sbf to get back to stock, then take the OTA
C) ??

Some poeple that tried A had an easy time of it, and others tried all kinds of things, but just ended up .sbfing anyway to get back to 2.3.15 so they could update.
MY suggestion, is to simply go for the .sbf, get back to stock, and OTA.
Guides EVERWHERE on .sbf'ing, my fav. here:

Sorry if I'm bringing this topic up again. I went through 15 pages of comments and feel like this topic has been dropped already.

I had the impression that you do not need to go back to the OTA in order to flash this rom. In the past, I thought drod2169 avoided leaked OTA's because there were no SBF's to fall back on. There's no mention in the original post regarding going back to 320 or 340.

Are you saying that those of us who have been using Rubix from 1.0 (till 1.9) will now have to SBF in order to get this ROM?

Again, sorry if this is being re-addressed. I didn't see this in the original post or in the "before you use 1.9.5 post from a few days ago).

IMHO, you should use whatever ROM "feels" best to you. They are all awesome, and they each have their own distinct flavor.

The only benchmark that matters to me is stock vs rom.
The difference between most of the custom roms, at least the good ones, is minimal from a performance perspective.

Definitely agree. It's just a bit more fun when you compare them in various different ways.
