One thing I've noticed is I've tried to install handcent and everytime it appears to install its not in my apps drawer or in manage apps, I saw a few pages back some talk about gtalk, is handcent not compatable?

If what you backed up, was a clean original ROM... sure.
Do you know if you ever updated to the 2.3.15 OTA? What is your kernel version (the whole thing), that would tell me more).

Or, what version of the bootloader, migth tell me more...
(Bootloader version:
Hold the VOL Down, and Camera buttons while powering up, should take you to a black screen with white text, and the first line will say something like "Bootloader Version:", what version?

They work fine together.

Reboot once, and try installing again.

Ok. So you're kernel/bootloader is on 2.3.15 (2.2).

I would use the 2.2 .sbf file, and .sbf back to clean 2.2 (2.3.15).. and just check for updates:
Menu> Settings> About Phone> System updates> ...

Should take you right to the 2.3.340 OTA.

ok, i have successully rommed to 1.95..but when i go to about phones i no longer can tell what version i'm on. no where is there even a system version icon there anymore. so i dont know if i'm 2.3.340 or not...any help?

I flashed 1.95 on the ota but it still says the old kernel. However everything works including themes so...

I have a question, what do you mean to be able to switch from one to the other? Do you have to have both Roms loaded on your Sd card?


Please let me know how you do this and why you would want to do this?

Focused does NOT change the bootloader/kernel.
If you still have the old (2.3.15/2.3.151 or earlier) kernel, and you're running Focused 1.9.5, you are likely to run into multimedia issues (camera/camcorder/youtube/video/audio/etc.etc.etc.).

If you are still on the old bootloader/kernel, you should restore to stock 2.3.15, and update to the OTA (2.3.340) for everything to function correctly.
