rubiX Focused 1.9.5

I'm noticing another issue I'm running into. When I'm in the market and I try to click on any of the options from the app side (left side) ((apps, games,.Verizon)) I get forced closed. Every time. I get a black screen then it fc's. Now this does not happen when in games., or Verizon Apps. Any ideas on what to do about this?

First thing I can think of trying, is to wipe data/cache for the market:
Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage applications> all tab> Market>
Force stop, clear cache, clear data, then try again.

Working fine for me.

I can't use the evovpn. when i click connect, it immediately says connection failed, try again....get crazy by this. could drod or sephtin look into it?

What is the easiest way to get your apps back in place with all your data after moving to this ROM?

I thought I read someplace that even with USER apps, you shouldn't restore APP+DATA from TitaniumBackup, but should just choose APP. Is this true? If so, what could happen if you restore both?

I understand that system apps shouldn't be restored because they can cause problems.

Also, I am noticing the issue previously mentioned where the SCREEN display timeout is now apparently tied to the keypin timeout, where they were separate before. This is also a bother for me because while I appreciate a 1 minute timeout on my screen, having to re-enter my pin every single time gets a bit grating. I don't believe I was able to find out, based on the previous discussion in this thread, if there was a way around this.

Also, my video camera does not work. FC when I switch to video, and blank pictures taken with the camera itself. I'm just about to wipe/reset everything and apply it again.

And finally, I notice that scripts are included. But I've never run a script before on the phone and wondered what the general method and commands were for running these scripts? Thank you.

Apps + Data is fine to restore, you don't want to restore any System Data.

Drod has said to let cache build before judging battery life. That got me thinking.

Are those cache cleaners in the market actually a bad thing? I have one that clears internal and sd cache once a day. Yay or nay?

Uhmm, evovpn? link? Or is it included?

Here's the link:
http://www.evovpn.com/

But I'm sure that the problem is with the VPN support in general. I made a post about this a few pages back -- just trying to connect to a PPTP VPN using the stock app has the same problem

Hmm.. maybe I should wait on that too then.
Generally how long does it take for the cache to "build" up ?
And to answer your question, GTvert90, I have no clue, haha.
I've never used a cache cleaner before.

Not a big fan. Cache is there for a reason. Unless you're having a problem, there really isn't a reason to clear it... In fact, doing so will cause the apps to load slower the next time you start them, as they re-create their cache.. :P

Having that cache around is by design. so probably just my preference, but I wouldn't mess with it...

Is anyone able to change their boot animation? I tried install them from zips (both unmounted and mounted systems) and manually replacing bootanimation.zip in /system/media but the default rubiX one always shows up.

It seems to be rewriting the boot animation back every time when I use Root Explorer. I would rename the old bootanimation.zip, paste in the new bootanimation.zip and it wouldn't work so I tried to delete the renamed bootanimation.zip but it would come back instantly. The only way it wouldn't be brought back was if I mounted the system R/O right after deleting the renamed file.

Yeah I changed mine. Don't change it in system/ media. Change it in data/ local. You should see bootanimation.zip there
