rubiX Focused 1.9.5

You have no idea how dumb I feel right now. Thanks Sephtin!

Just assumed that cause I was rooted, that I would not need to su. How wrong I was.

Hi!! Awesome ROM!!

After the ROM upgrade however:

Trying to run the scripts from the first page of this thread using terminal emulator (especially the office script), but not getting any restults. I am running these from the root folder. But I am getting the following errors:

mount: Operation not permitted
failed on 'system/app/QuickOffice.bak' permission denied
mount: not permitted
Restored Quick Office app

I am getting this type of error on all scripts that I attempt.

What is the best way to run these scripts and what are the gocha's?

Sounds like it's failing to mount system as RW... which requires root.

Just guessing.. but what happens if you run "su" before running the script?

File doesn't exist in \system\app directory. Drod mentioned he will look into scripting issues. I believe they are just old pointers when new file's/app's have different names.

Here is seph's patch for adding quickoffice back in:
http://www.sephtin.com/rubiX/UNOFFICIAL-rubixFocused-PATCH-QuickOffice.zip
Just install via bootstrap and should work.

Hm.. I should of added the hosts file by default, and seems I overlooked the actual file... The other scripts should work.. I'll check them out and see if I can't fix them.

Thanks, drod. Not critical, but I figured worth mentioning. Seems other scripts aren't working due to either missing apk or old file names. Will let you figure out what is wrong with 'em as it's beyond me :)

Ya, Failed testing.. I saw that new scripts were included.. but didn't test when I had the chance... :(
All the scripts are done with straight IF statements instead of Case.. I'm glad I didn't look at them more closely, I'd have completely rewritten them all.. bleh

lol

No no!! That's an easy thing to overlook.. honestly, I don't even know if the scripts work.. (see above.. failed testing) :(

Worst case, most of the stuff is there, just .. ? Worst case, there are patches for most of that stuff.. heh

I'm running the Linear theme on top of 1.95, which may or may not be important, but I have two problems; 1. I am unable to set up the lockscreen with a pin. A lockscreen never appears, after bootup or a timeout. 2. I only have two options when long pressing the power button, Power Off and Reboot. I've done everything I can think of short of a factory reset, anybody got any ideas?

I also used the backup apps script before going to 1.95, and it did a successful backup. But it didn't do a restore on first boot. I had my phone connected to the PC for charging and there is a default to USB mass storage when loading a new ROM, so I guess the first boot got hosed up. Is there a command to do a restore after the fact?

Did a factory reset and that cured both of my problems.

Didn't read the scripts portion of the OP thoroughly so I missed the apps script, which does a restore.

I think 1.95 with Linear is the best experience so far on the X.

VPN not working

Is anyone else having problems setting up a PPTP VPN with this ROM? I switched from Fission 2.4.3, and it worked fine. Winth Rubix, it doesn't even try to connect -- it immediately tells me that it couldn't.

After installing this rom I can no longer go to about phone and see what system version I'm on. Also under rom/version it says unknown...anyone else have this? The rom runs great BTW..really smooth...thanks in advance!

I also noticed my microbes lwp force closes when I try to preview or apply it, anyone else have this problem?

Try clearing cache/data for the Microbes LWP app:
Menu> settings> Applications> Manage applications> all tab> Microbes LiveWallpaper
Force stop, wipe cache, wipe data.

See if that helps (??).

Edit: Previously in this thread, someone said that they had to reinstall it... instructions in their post (search if you can't find it, but it was in the last 4-5 pages.. I believe).

Bump again. Did a thread search couldn't find anything on reinstalling the microbes lwp. Any answers?

That is normal.

The "system version" that used to load.. was just loading from the text file that the ROM supplied anyway, so was wrong most of the time. :P
The entire system directory has been respaced, and is now on Focused 1.9.5 (which is what your "Build number" should show...).

Since system has been replaced.. the only versions that really matter, are ROM version, and Kernel version.

I don't have a complete list.. but the important one is 2.3.340 kernel is:
2.6.32.9-g55626e1

I **THINK** 2.3.320 kernel is:
2.6.32.9-gfb07887

But I'm not sure about that. :S

Is there something specific that you need to know?

See if this info helps a little more.
