rubiX Focused 1.9.5

One more question.. Out of my 100 something contacts I had before, only 26 show up in the contact list. but if one of those missing contacts all me, all their information is still saved, and I can open the contact via the recent contact list... but they still dont show up in main contact list

Blur? No. It's integrated with about 6 other blur apps.
Only way I know of, is via a Blur ROM.

Well, crap. That saddens me. I just got backup assistant running, and was hoping to get news too. Those are the only ones i want. awell

Backup assistant can cause you problems. Framework's different, and doesn't always use the "phone" group of contacts.
You're WAAAAAY better off just saving yourself the headache, and migrating those contacts over to google contacts:
Migrating contacts from "Phone" (BackUp Assistant), to Google Contacts

BUA (BackUp Assistant is great for stock ROMs, but the closer you get the AOSP, the more worthless it becomes.

Sweet, thank you for quick info and response. Is there an ability to assign specific ringtones to people from the contact list?

Yea... That's because BUA laods the contacts as "phone" contacts, in another group, that the AOSP contacts app doesn't know how to handle...

Honestly, my suggestion.. is to follow the link in my post to migrate them to google contacts, and then reload Focused(wipe data/cache again, and reload, to get rid of those contacts).

Other problems can occur because of this as well.. I believe one of the issues, is that when texting, if you pick one a user out of the list, someone completely different can show up as the contact you're trying to send to (??). This is because the phone is COMPLETELY confused regarding contacts.

Not required, but if/when you start having issues with contacts, at least you'll know why.

I just added all the contacts from verizon to google.

There is! But I believe it's still broken in 1.9.5 (It was in previous 1.8.x, and 1.9.x versions)...

Select the contact, hit Menu button, and then options.

Im not sure what I'm doing wrong... I did read the FAQ and saw how the wrong version causes havoc on media....

I had the latest OTA update, flashed this rom from Rom Manager (wiped data/cache)..... and Bitbop, and pandora both don't work :/

If you go to:
Menu> Settings> About phone.. what kernel version do you have?
If you have the OTA, it should be 2.6.32.9-g55626e1

If you have that version, then it's not the version that's the problem... (?).

If you haven't, make sure you are on the .340 OTA or the TBH patches to.340

Inkarnit: I did read page 1 but I took that as how to install if you are installing Rubix 1.9.5 out of the gate and not trying to upgrade. My bad.

Thanks Jordan8! That was the answer I was looking for.

I was using Pulse -really cool- but check out the battery consumption. I had mine set to manual updates.
I have uninstalled almost everything from my phone now cuz my batt life sucks. I'm still trying to find out the culprit... all signs point to facebook.

Is there any way to use the stock news widget that came with the phone? I find that its the best RSS reader out there, and Im really missing it.

+1 - I miss it, too.

ok my kernel is 2.6.32.9-ga42712e
w30471@il93lnxdroid08#1

Can I just load the proper kernel? Or do I have to sbf back to stock?

EDIT: I just went back to where I updated from and apparently the OTA didnt work the first time as I just checked for updates and it gave me the OTA again... downloading now and will retry... Thank you!

So far this ROM is the best I've used yet!

Septh, you scared the bejeesus out of me.
I stopped at 70% :( Kind of a relief, that pixel-by-pixel drawing was killing me.

Septh, why do you have to be like that? j/k :)
I made the framework-res.apk file and a clockwork backup, but I still don't have the gonads to do it.
If I mess up the framework, I won't even get a chance to boot in clockwork to restore the last backup?
...that blows

Note, that if you mess up the framework, you will probably boot loop. When playing with framework, be prepared to .sbf!
Maybe you'll be lucky... I've not been so lucky, when I did all of my testing for my bar-mod, I .sbf'd 4 or 5 times...
(Usually because I accidentally included the framework-res folder in my zip when I re-zipped the whole thing.. O.o
Nothing to be afraid of! (if you know how to .sbf to 2.3.320, and can apply the patches.. AND, if you have a good recent nandroid!!!). :)
