rubiX Focused 1.9.7, back and better than ever

New rubix is sick!!! Sephtins mod creator is awesome too!! I am encountering one problem though....didn't find anything on it yet. Seems like google navigation doesn't work. Ill get gps signal and ill get it to give me directions in google maps but when I get to the turn by turn section all it says is "getting driving directions" and never it gets by that. Just syarted woth the newest rubix. Wondering of anyone has an idea or also having this problem. Thanks!

Reboot, and see if that fixes. If not, then clear data/cache for maps:
Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage applications> all tab> (google) maps
Force stop, Clear cache, Clear data, make sure to log in again, and try again.

I'm guessing a reboot will fix.. ?

Love rubiX roms and they have been the most stable I have used thufar, but I'm having all sorts of trouble with 1.9.7. I am getting a lot of screen freezes and random reboots. Whenever I attempt to zoom (which I used to love pinch to zoom in but it won't allow it with the 2d gallery) after zooming in and then out, the screen freezes and I get a reboot. Whenever I am in an application that kicks out the browser I am getting freezes when I zoom in and then out of the browser. I would say that I'm getting 3-4 reboots a day. I did a clean install of rubiX (date and cache wipe) and the rom is great but the reboots might cause me to leave back to 1.9.5. Any idea what this is happening? Would my luck improve if I flashed the Fission Camera, Gallery, Media .zip's?

Also, if I save the QuickClock app in Titanium can I apply the app to 1.9.5? Just wondered if it was compatable.

Thanks for any help!

The ROM is extremely stable. It's basically 1.9.5 with some framework improvements, udpated apps, fixed scripts and new tweaks/additions... :P

If you were stable on 1.9.5, then it's something you're doing differently now, very likely quickclock. :P I'd ditch it, and I bet your stability issues go away... Funny that's the one thing you want to keep.. If you took it's current settings over to 1.9.5, you'd likely be taking the problems along with you...

I'm just guessing that QuickClock is being overly aggressive, OR you have something else that is also trying to manage cpu/battery/memory/performance, and they're not playing well together.

Try loading 1.9.7 cleanly again (with data/cache wipe), and run it for a while without any apps that are supposed to improve speed/memory/tasks/battery/etc. (task killers, OC apps, setcpu, those kinds of things), and then add any that you may have 1 at a time, and see when it starts to become unstable.

what does quickclock have you calibrated at?

If Quickclock is the problem I am definitely ditching it. I wasn't sure if the probelm was related to the rom or OC'ing it so I'll freeze it in Titanium and see if that brings more stability before I do a clean install again. I don't run any task killers, and I disabled SetCPU and DroidX/2 Overclock in favor of Quickclock. I might just go back to setting things up with OC manually and see where it goes from there but I'm happy to hear it's not the rom because rubiX has always worked so well for me in the past.

Quickclock has...check that...HAD me calibrated at 300, 759, 1012, 1265. :)

TOTALLY confused by this. :(
GPS is on in settings? (Should prompt you)

I use maps and navigation a lot.. and haven't had a problem at all in 1.9.7.

Yea i was quite perplexed haha. Ill figure it out. Well, If i find an answer ill be sure to post it incase others experience. Its not leading me to believe its just my phone acting up right now. Yea GPS was on and could locate me, the thing is, when it enters Navigation mode, it will follow me on the map in the background but all it says is "Getting driving instructions..." and it just continually tries to get it but to no avail. After about say 10 seconds, the send/receive arrows stop lighting up so its not doing anything as far as getting directions....just kind of pauses. A hard reset will prob fix...but I dont feel like it right now haha

I searched the thread already, and I came across one unanswered question about lock screen lag. So I will re ask, is this a known issue? If I am either in the rotary lock screen, or the slide lock, there is a noticeable delay between when the slider hits the unlock button, and when the slider continues its animation. I was looking at my buddy's dinc (lol) running cm7 and his rotary lock screen is smooth as butter. Is there anything the devs can do to improve the lock screen performance on the DX? This has been noticeable to me since I was running stock, one of my biggest beefs with the dx overall.

Any chance of getting the Blur dialer to work in this ROM?

The only reason I ask is because voice dialing via Bluetooth does not work properly in AOSP ROMs. It asks me to say the name of the person I want to call, and the AOSP voice dialer gets it wrong, every single time. The Blur dialer doesn't have this issue.

Thanks,
Mike

I switched to go sms for my secondary messaging app and the stock rubix messaging apps notification is still persistent and will not got away after messages are viewed. I even reluctantly check to make sure the notifications are turned off for the stock app and they were. I dont get it and its really annoying me. any other ideas?

No. It's not currently possible.
I don't know of anyone trying to make this work.. but if someone runs across a method to do so, would be great if they shared...

Some quick questions. I flashed this rom from the liberty rom. I like it alot more. But I noticed a few things the wallpapers menu is messed up like it was from liberty, it loads but they wallpapers are just all grey.

Also the progress bar and highlights when you select something are yellow the same from liberty should it be yellow or a different color? Because I think some settings came over even though I did a factory reset because a wallpaper form liberty was set on it after I flashed it.

Also I have noticed my battery draining faster. I check the usage and it says phone idle is using about 40% of the battery when before it was pretty much always display was like 70-80% and phone idle was a lot lower. Is something messed up?
