rubiX Focused 1.9.7, back and better than ever

I am not understanding the quickclock app and hope someone can help....

I have ran the app several times and the first couple of times I experienced the failure at 1500 like others but then it started working? I guess because it rebooted after getting down to 12vsel@300 then started the max speed tests. It ran perfectly up to 1500 and the dialog box indicated it finished and my max speed was 1406 but when I looked at the app again it said I was running a max of 1296@66 vsel? I am just wondering why it doesn't say 1406? I tried to find the help file mentioned in the "about" section but did not locate it....

Could anyone shed some light?

It has a buffer, for safety, that determines a safe speed for you, instead of the max. To run the max speed instead, you'd have to buy the full app that the maker has on the market.

Overclocking phones/mobile device is just like overclocking a desktop PC.. and the general rule there is to push it as far as you can, then pull it back a notch, then pull it back another notch just to be safe.

Just because the device is a stable overclock at a speed, does not mean that it will be stable under all circumstances.. example, if the device is getting hot under load, regardless of the protection circuitry it can still become unstable.
Funny thing is, most people believe that a bad overclock is one that makes their phone reboot... but there are all kinds of fun things that can happen from overclocking...
--Damage to the device
--file corruption when writing a file (can cause issues with /data and /sdcard)
--unstable, things lag/hang/FC/don't function correctly/weirdness, etc. (NOT just reboots).

I highly highly recommend that you don't run your phone at it's best/max overclock, you're just asking for problems...

Quickclock finds the max OC, then takes it back a notch or two. I'm extremely impressed with it.

Edit: One other thing I'd mention.. is that just because a device is stable at a set speed doesn't mean it will remain that way...

USB Connection Issues

I am having an issue when I connect my X to a PC via USB cable. No matter which USB mode I put the phone in, I experience a large amount of lag. It gets to the point that I cant even scroll through my screens. As soon as I unplug the phone, it is back to normal (which is fast as hell thanks to this AWESOME rom).

I installed rubiX 1.9.7 over a Stock OTA 2.340 Recovery that I made, I foolishly did not wipe first (I know) and bootlooped, but I was able to wipe and got er running. Besides the USB issue, the rom is running smoother then Al Green.

I tried to wipe cache, but no joy. Any ideas? :blackdroid:

Edit: Just wanted to add that the issue does not occur when using a wall outlet to charge the phone.

I dont have a lockscreen... Anyone knoe why? I hit top button and when I hit it to turn it on it just sends me to the home screen

Installed rubiX Focused 1.9.7 and LOVE everything about it presently, except for one major problem. Every time I click on Market it immediately force closes. I know there were issues in previous versions, but I can't find mention of it here.

Is there a solution? That's a non-negotiable issue, and I would hate to go back to stock because I love a whole lot about this ROM.

Market FC's are usually (but not always) caused by restoring from backup (titanium/mybackup).
And usually fixed by wiping cache/data:
Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> all tab> Market-
Force stop, Clear cache, Clear data, try again.

That worked perfectly. And that was the reason why. Thanks so much.
Now the only problem is that it keeps randomly locking up and rebooting ALL THE TIME. Should I assume it it related to trying QuickClock? It made things really fast and the battery life is amazing, but if the trade is locking up every 20 minutes and rebooting, that's obviously not good.

In the absence of that... GOD I LOVE THIS ROM.

not going to lie this answer is pulled straight out of my ass. but perhaps the usb issue isnt on the phones end? maybe its coming from your computer? try a different usb port, or update the drivers? if that doesnt work. i would sbf, then wipe everything, then re-install. and see if that works?

Ok, I've been steadily hooked on rubiX crack for several months now. I have even gavea small donation to DRod & Seth for their great work and support of their work. but I have a little secret......after running 1.9.7 i switched to DarkSlive v4.2 :icon_eek:

All this did was reaffirm the wise decision to run with rubiX. DS v4.2 was the blurless version but fails in comparison to rubiX (any version that I've tried). The look of DS was pretty nice but the performance was no where close.

Thank goodness for Nandroids.....rubiX 1.9.7 with Black Juice Ginger is the best thing that has ever happened to my DX.

One more thing, the QuickClock app is awesome! Seth is right folks.....QC has the safety of you device as top priority. If spending/wasting money on new phones is no big deal that run at full max (and heat).

My Wireless tether doesn't work coirrectly, How do I troubleshoot it. My phone is my only means for web access on my tablet for now so I need to get it to work. I know it worked w/another Rom but I don't remember which one..

To help troubleshoot:
Which wireless tether app are you using?
The VZW HotSpot (which does work, I've tested it)... or one of the other many tether apps..

When you try to use it, can you give more information than "doesn't work correctly"? What happens when you try to use it. HOW are you trying to use it (ad-hoc, or infrastructure, etc.)? The more info you provide, the better chance you'll have that someone can respond and help out!

well i waited up last night for liberty 1.5. got it installed and found i loved Rubix 1.9.7 much better, so i re-installed!! love this rom, great work guys!

Nothing Better

Im a long time RubiX user that has been running Liberty since release. I am now coming back to RubiX as my phone has never run worse since installing Liberty. Way too many FCs and random reboots. Makes it very unenjoyable to use my phone. Plus I'm not pleased they used battery icons that I created without even asking or giving credit in there new Liberty tool box (was going to switch back before this anyways).

I have used Liberty most of the time but I thought I would try Rubix and I think it is a very stable ROM. Real dumb question though. How do I run these scripts?
