rubiX Focused 1.9.7, back and better than ever

Drod, Is there any way to put back in the lockscreen timer? And/or get the pattern lock to show up after the normal slide or rotary lock?

I'm not necessarily asking for it to be built into rubix, but if you have some insight as to where I can start digging to mod it myself, that'd be great. If I do ever figure it out, I'll share a "patch" anyone who wants it.

This was a huge framework change... I believe it could be put back, but would cause other issues (the issues that are the reasong it was pulled in the first place).
Catch Kejar for details.. I know he is well aware of exactly what was changed in the framework for this....

Hello. I accidentally uninstalled the gallery. is there anyway I can restore it ? I tried to copy the gallery3d.bak from the rubix\extra folder and replace it in the system\app. it wouldnt install. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

any date on when this will be available on rom manager? i have apparently lost the camera button when in recovery (just wont work) so i was hoping to install this via rom manager instead. any ideas?

Awesome Rom, thank you very much Drod2169! It is screaming fast!
The only problem I am having now is with the Camcorder.
It does start and shows recording but doesn't save anything.
I am also cannot use the gallery shortcut that shows with the cameras.
Is anybody else having these issues?

I had problems with my camera and camcorder, but I downloaded the fission camera and have better quality and nomore problems.... I dont remember which thread its in, but I do remember either drod or sephtin putting a link to it... Give it a try and see if it fixes ur problem... Did for me at least

Word of advice... Dont worry bout rom manager... Do it directly from drods link here... You will have a much cleaner and better download than rom manager...

I'm currently on rubix 1.8.6 running system version 2.3.20. Rubix is great and runs smooth/fast. But I get at least 3 random reboots a day. Not sure if it's a program causing it or what. Good thing is the restart doesn't take long but it's getting annoying.

Should I do an update to 2.3.34 and try out rubix 1.9.7. I'm just too lazy to do it right now. But if I knew it'll get rid of the reboots, I'll definitely upgrade.

If I were you personally I would ditch the leak 320 and update to 2.3.340 OTA using the maderstock340.zip. This will give you a clean unrooted 340 rom the use z4root and bootstrap. Then give the new focused or blurry a shot. I find .340 to be a much more stable OS. No reboots for me on 1.9.7.

I tried using the maderstock340 but didn't read carefully. Forgot to wipe data/cache and I got stock on reboot, LOL. Had to start from scratch and install sbf file. Now upgraded to 1.9.7 with black ginger from juiceman. Everything running great. So far no reboots since yesterday afternoon.

Thanks

Im a long time RubiX user that has been running Liberty since release. I am now coming back to RubiX as my phone has never run worse since installing Liberty. Way too many FCs and random reboots. Makes it very unenjoyable to use my phone. Plus I'm not pleased they used battery icons that I created without even asking or giving credit in there new Liberty tool box (was going to switch back before this anyways).

I noticed that when I did a restore from MyBackupPro on Liberty, lots of programs did not work with data portion (caused FC's). Something must of been reworked/changed in the data structure. Programs work fine w/o data restoration. I never ran into FC's before restoring data, so maybe a compatibility issue /shrug

Could anyone help me figure out why my battery life was so poor with rubix? With no extra apps installed besides advanced task killer I would go from 100% to 80% in one day only by answering 2 phone calls the entire day. I switched to liberty 1.5 and after 2 days with lots of texting and a few phone calls I'm still at 80% after a full charge.

Once you've gotten rid of (ATK)... then try again. You're almost certain to have better luck.

Great rom thanks only problem I have is when I end a call the phone reboots. Is there a fix for this? Thanks again and keep up the great work.

I searched the thread already, and I came across one unanswered question about lock screen lag. So I will re ask, is this a known issue? If I am either in the rotary lock screen, or the slide lock, there is a noticeable delay between when the slider hits the unlock button, and when the slider continues its animation. I was looking at my buddy's dinc (lol) running cm7 and his rotary lock screen is smooth as butter. Is there anything the devs can do to improve the lock screen performance on the DX? This has been noticeable to me since I was running stock, one of my biggest beefs with the dx overall.

So I too had this problem and found the answer. For me the reason it lagged was because of the haptic feedback for the slide lock is on. The only way that others said to over ride this was to use the widget locker app. So I am using that now and in the app there's a option to remove haptic feedback and it works great.

Not sure if theres a native way to do this in Rubix without that app.

Hmm, have not heard of the haptic feedback setting causing lag on slider unlock...

I HAVE heard of SetCPU causing it though... (It seems SetCPU is changing the system speed or something about the same time most people are unlocking.. and you get lag from it)... If you have this issue, and are using SetCPU, try without SetCPU and see if it helps.

Hi Sephtin
Not running SetCPU on my X unless it's automatically run on Rubix. Is there a way to add an option to remove haptic feedback in slidelock on the next update of Rubix?

Thanks!

Regarding adding/removing features, have to ask Drod... I'm not privy to the roadmap of the next version as of yet...

I had this issue on 1.9.5, and determined that it was because of the throttle hack (don't remember where I got it but it wasn't the one posted here). Have you applied it?
