Seidio 2600mAh extended battery

Can't imagine widgets loading would be related to the battery......

Normally I wouldn't either, unless maybe there is a voltage issue or the OS is just slowing down trying to get a read on the battery that its not equiped to read. I dont know.... I'll have to test with the standard batt and see if I can get any kind of consistant diference

Soooo... does anyone have a clue when the Innocell Slim Extended Life Battery will be available for the Moto Droid!!! That's the one I want (and not for Christmas if you know what I mean!!!).

i am kind of warry of using aftermarket batteries ... but this slim extended is pretty enticing ...

does Seidio do extensive testing with the phone and different chargers ? it wouldn't look too good if the battery exploded or overheated ...

Those type of batteries are actually pretty hard to find..... you really have to go crazy on looking for a budget battery to find unprotected cells.

Seidio has among the best reputation I can find for cellphone batteries...they just aren't some vague ebay fly by night company working out of a broken down shop in china somewhere... they have a good reputation and excellent customer service bar none..

Ugh, battery drained about the same amount of time as yesterday, sightly more, but I didn't have the screen on the whole time while driving to and from work. I'm getting about the same, if not a little less then my stock battery. I"ve had a couple days of 10 hr charges and there have been no improvment to my battery life. Being that this think is more then twice the capacity, its not even in the realm of reason that it should get the same or less then the stock batt. not good.

Update: full charge since 8-9 hrs and it looks like 3944mv is my max. 6:35 hrs till depleation. 100% charged. Damn, looks like I'll have to contact support after all.... I was really hoping that it would improve on its own.

If your comparing with your stock and being honest about the use of both and the extended is not beating the pants off the stock.. you have a dud.

Not sure why you are leaving the screen on unless its just a torture test to shorten the experiment, but I would have to go crazy to drain mine in one day.

Can Someone suggest a good wireless speakers for the droid?

A suggestion would be to start a new topic
There are limits as to how far we should drag off topic....... we need to try and keep discussions revolving around the Seidio battery, or some relation thereof in respect to Seidio.

We have discussed monitoring systems, quality, and options etc..... Not sure going wireless should be entertained here but rather started in another thread because to be fair to you and Seidio you can't get quality discussion about your issue without totally stealing attention away from the topic here.

thanks for the input ...
i figure Seidio is pretty good. i am looking forward to snagging this battery when it's available. i charge about 1 time in a day or 2 ... don't let the battery get really low. so i would say that this new battery may 1/2 the charge interval ?

The leaving the screen on part was just because I listen to podcasts in the car and Ilike to be able to pause, search etc with out having to do the unlock pattern every time and I didn't want to plug the car charger to it and mess up the uptime tracking. I took that into account on the day I did that. But didn't do it on consecutive days just to make sure I wasn't throwing off the whole battery uptime test.

And yeah, I'm totally being honest with time compared to my stock and not comparing it to your crazy times. Ignoring the readings from the software, its not even exceeding the stock at all, so I know its not working the way it ahould. Especially for the price I paid for it and the bulk it adds. Bogus. I'll contact them on Monday as they are likely not open on the weekends.

Just for schlitz and giggles, I just bought a 1600mah battery on eBay which is coming from Hong Kong (now there's a quality source). I'll see how it works with the phone and battery left when I get it. It was pretty cheap so if it's a bust, oh well, no biggie.
DID YOU HEAR THAT SEIDIO, IT'S TIME TO COME OUT WITH THE SLIM EXTENDED VERSION!!!
Now we return you to your regular thread...

I have the extended life battery and I'm trying to follow the procedure outline here to the letter. I charged for many hours and saw 4200mv and when I unplugged at 4pm yesterday it said 4187 which is damn close to the 419x talked about somewhere in these 48 pages of posts!

It is now 19.5 hours later (don't forget we sprung ahead one hour) and widget-wise I'm seeing 3782mv with 0 minutes left, the phone has been showing 5% left since around 11pm last night.

Battery-left was set to recalibrate just before pulling the plug on the charge and after a few hours said it was "accurate" and predicted a dead battery by 11.30ish with a "full battery life" of 7 hours and 37 minutes.

It is now 11+ hours later and battery left still shows 0 time left, estimated % of 1%, system 5% and full battery life of 7 hours and 37 minutes! Did it not see the last 11 hours? Why isn't the full battery life being updated?

Something doesn't make sense to me. I will let things go until the phone shuts down but the battery left program doesn't seem to be doing what it's supposed to do.

Any ideas? Did I do something wrong?

You have to charge it at least 2 hours past 100%, then use it until the battery goes dead, recharge to 100% again and you should be set to go... if I'm not mistaken... I'm not totlly sure what's supposed to make battery left so special above any other battery monitoring program. I'm still on OEM (at least until I get my Hong Kong eBay Special) and it seems to be on the ball and working well. Still, it seems like a lot of effort just for a battery level widget. I guess everyone needs a hobby.

The DROID's battery indicator has bugs in it which prevents it from properly telling you how much battery power you have available when using the extended battery.

I was under the impression that the battery left widget could work around that problem but seems to be falling short in my case.

My post was to help the developer, who reads and posts in this thread, improve his app and I'll be sending him the log file after the phone exhausts the battery and I re-charge.

So in response to your snide, "I guess everybody needs a hobby" comment, it's not a hobby we are trying to work around a bug that we can't control. Good luck with your cheap knockoff battery, I'm sure you'll get what you paid for.

I got the extended SEIDIO battery...adds a little weight but not bad, I can see why people said it gives you better feel when using as a phone. It fits fine in my case that came with my phone (bought it at Costco so it came with stuff).

As measured on a kitchen digital scale for cooking:
The OEM battery door weight is .40 OZ
The OEM battery weight is 1.00 OZ

SEIDIO extended battery weight is 1.70 OZ
SEIDIO extended battery door weight is .30 OZ

Phone with Extended battery and door installed weighs 6.55 OZ
Phone with no battery or battery door installed weighs 4.60 OZ

I'll post after I let it charge for the day/night...give it a good charge.
