Seidio Case

10cuv7t.jpg

Got my case today since I had it mailed to my work. The fit and finish of the case is suberb- snaps on tight, feels well made, it has a rubbery layer so it doesn't slide in your hand and it grips to the desk well.

Only complaint I may have... which isn't even a complaint is sliding the keyboard open takes a little bit more effort. It isn't hard to open, but you can definitely feel the rubbery parts touching ever so slightly. BUT... this isn't a complaint. The slider always opens in my pocked, which is annoying, and with this on that won't happen anymore =)

HOW TO GET THE SEIDO TEXT OFF THE BACK

Did it about 5 minutes ago and it worked. Put some hand sanitizer on a napkin or one of those cheap bathroom paper towels (not regular paper towels, too soft) and rub the hand sanitizer on the words and it comes right off and does NOT damage the case.

Incase someone is wondering, I used Purell Ocean Mist hand sanitizer =p

If anyone else is having issues with it sliding out please post. make sure you take off the factory skin on the back of the slider first. please start your posts with "STIFF" if its not sliding right or "SMOOTH" if its sliding just fine so we can easily count to see if its a big problem.

Hrm, Sorry to triple post! But there's two things I noticed with the stiffness.

For one, I forgot I had a business card under my battery holder so I removed that and the case fits A LOT better. I forgot how the business card made the battery cover bulge a bit. The sliding action felt 50% better after that.

I also slid the keyboard back and forth about 100 times under my desk while my boss was talking to me and it feels pretty much normal now. There's a more pronounced "click" when you snap it to closed position (which is a good thing!) but it doesn't have the "rubber on rubber" sliding feeling anymore.

So no complaints. PERFECT case =)

Just make sure you didn't do the business card thing, haha.

Thanks for that tip. I have pre-ordered the case + holster combo.
My G1 case had Seidio lettering on it, but NOT in white. IMHO, that white lettering is tacky, so it will be coming off as soon as I get mine.
Seidio didn't pay me to advertise for them.

Keep it in mind it doesn't come off 100%. It takes off the white letters and leaves sort of a shadow text but it's BARELY visible. I mean you have to turn it at an angle with the light hitting it right to see it- and unless you're really really looking for it and know it's there, you'll never see it.

When removed- the text matches the case but it's barely one shade lighter. Keep in mind I scrubbed the text 5 different times with paper towels. Takes a little bit but it comes right off =)

Thanks. It sounds like the finished product after you removed the white is about what the G1 case was like when I received it new -- you could see the Seidio name, but was rather subtle.

After going thru 2 other cases my girl friend got sick of me *****ing about this and that (I'm picky whhen it comes to my electronics) and she ordered me one of these. Great reviews here... looking forward to getting it!

You should do a group buy when you release it. Good way to promote a new product and sell them quickly =)

OK, since you want opinions over there at Seidio -- notice that stamping your name in bold white letters on the case is NOT proving popular, since we are figuring out ways to remove it and posting it on the forums.

So how about losing the bright white tacky Seidio branding and go back to the subtle brand name on your case???

Most people who pay for a premium price for a premium product aren't interested in doing free advertising for you. And actually it is tacky and a turn off. Before I saw someone post here how to take it off, the first thing I was going to do once I received the case was figure out how to remove the bright white branding.

i personally like the Seidio logo, I think it looks a bit plain without it there, and it draws attention away from the gold speaker grill which I hate.

I also think you're being a bit over the top with your "free advertising" tirade. They put their brand name on their product, sue them. The logo is actually not very bright, and i think it sticks with the industrial look of the phone. It only looks that bright because of the flash photography used. Plus, it looks like it's pretty easy to remove.

colors!

Any wild speculation for when the sapphire blue and burgundy colors will be available?

For other cases Seidio has made, how long did black remain the only color shipping?

FYI this is an forum where opinions are expressed and I expressed an opinion. No need to get your panties all in a wad with the "sue them" crap. If you don't like opinions differing from yours, stay off of forums. To each his own.

I don't need anything to "take away" from the gold speaker grille because I don't have a problem with the appearance of it.

The Seidio logo has always been there on their cases. As I mentioned, I had a G1 Seidio case, and the Seidio logo was there in a slightly depressed form, so you could see it, but it was subtle and in good taste for a higher end case. The white letters are not tasteful and cheapen the look of the product, IMHO.
