Read as a movie trailer....

Announcer: "In the land where the X was king.."
DX: "It's good to be the king"
Announcer: "And FROYO was being handed out to his minions.."
DX: "Here is 2.2 for you, and you, and here is your 2.2 Droid."
Announcer: "The king has found himself without enough FROYO to go around and must wait for the next batch to get his."
DX: "Come on Moto... make it faster, I want my FROYO!"
Announcer: "Coming to you this summer... well late summer.... perhaps early fall? November... Definatly before Christmas.. maybe..."

little dx humor for ya

1, Where is the volume fix that they said is coming?
2. Where is my Adobe Flash!
3. Where is my 2.2 and upgrade in performance, speed and battery life.

NO...I am not rooting, nor do I want to. I just want these people to get there act together and get this 2.2 upgrade done and roll out these three things!

Right now I am running an amazing phone at limited capabilities!

I hate that fact! :icon_evil:

LOL if you only had the blackberry storm at one point in your life...this would be a breeze for you. I was promised the next update that would make the phone super amazing every other week, and it took them about 8 months before they got a DECENT update. And even then, the phone sucked. Count your blessings and don't complain about this phone, it's a winner. They said there would be an update by the end of August, but they ran into some problems probably...things happen, technology isn't easy to solve. It should be out soon, I'm sure when they bring the update out it will kick ass.

You are right! I was a Storm owner and this is nothing. Imagine how upset these people would be if the upgrade was postponed a dozen times till sometime next year, and then barely worked. I would guess that most people complaining about a delay (that wasnt even supposed to be out until about now), have never owned a BB!

as a former storm owner i totally agree.

Really people who complain about 2.2 upgrade needs to know that you rather them push a buggy OS upgrade and have random reboot, memory leak problem and stuff not working, constant force close or a stable os.

Ye that happened with the storm, the phone came out months ahead of when it was supposed to (during Christmas time) which is why there were so many problems...it was rushed. Honestly, I don't even know what Froyo is gonna do for me that's gonna make the phone so much better. Besides flash player but that's about it. If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it. The DX is far from broke.

On the Storm, I had to reboot 3 times a day cause of memory leaks (I had an app that stimulated battery pulls...pathetic I know. It even did it automatically when I went to sleep so in the morning it would be fresh and ready to go) and if I downloaded more than 3 apps. Oh crappppppppppp

That's why I joined this forum before I got a droid and asked a million questions about memory, memory leak, apps, etc etc before I got the first droid. First droid was a nice phone, but the DX...it's on a different level.

The DX out of the box is an error prone device. MANY people have issues with the phone locking up and random rebooting. There are problems with the WIFI for some as well. Also, dont even get me started on the poor battery life and overall performance of the phone.

With the leaked 2.2, I as well as well as everyone else do not experience the random reboots anymore.

The phone never locks up on me.

The phone is FAST!!! That is actually an understatement.

The web browser has improvements with its javascript and overall performance which has been well documented.

The new Voice functions are INCREDIBLE!!!! This is my absolute favorite feature of 2.2!!!!

Bootup times are quicker.

The phone has overall with the leaked 2.2 made my smartphone experience better than anything Ive ever experienced in my life!!!

Flash is really my least favorite of all the new features. I hardly utilize it to be honest. :-)

I havent had one problem with my dx on 2.1 stock... I dunno why your basing that statement off of a handful of people out of 100,000's who bought the phone. Battery life on this phone is the same with any Android phone, if the user doesnt know what he/she is doing, the battery will suffer. The only legit issues with this phone that I know are real are

1. Camera red dots (fixed in 2.2)
2. Poor Speaker assembly (duster shot in the ear piece will fix it)
3. Low audio (pick better tones)

Other then those 3 issues, I havent heard of any real problems other then people who lack the skills to use a device. Not implying youre an idiot or anything, just saying that most of the issues people have are user error or lack there-of.

As for the leaked froyo builds, I had nothing but problems... Dropped wifi, sluggish performance, and random reboots/fc. I tried everything possible to make my phone run smooth on 2.2, but every install had its own issues. However; it does seem to be faster then 2.1 (not much), and the 270* orientation is great (can finally use my charger with my homemade desk dock)

To each his own, but please dont try to say the DX is a pos with 2.1, its not.

You obviously have missed the myriad of problem threads for the DX amongst the phone tech forums on the net. Go do some research then post back again. :-)

You probably cant get 2.2 to work right due to user error. Make sure u follow the installation directions to a T. Also, try out the tanquility 2.3.3 ROM. It is terrific!
