Swype Android Beta!!

is it just me or has anyone noticed a decline in battery life with the new swype beta installed on their phone? i'm using batteryleft. i charged my phone all last night, unplugged it at about 7:30am before i left for work. i don't text a lot at work and i browse the web a bit during my lunch. i'm now down to 68% battery with the same daily use that i've had before. the only thing i've changed is installing swype. maybe i'm crazy?

When downloading a file it will consume more battery life. Try again tomorrow when you don't download a 4-5mb size file.

Another suggestion. Keep your droid unplugged for as many hours as possible and check the battery history in Settings. See how much of your battery use is associated with Swype.

Can people post their swype versions? I'm on 1.25.16.5612.t100

Is anyone using 5652 after they turned their phone off and back on and having it work as it should?

I can confirm that 5612 is the version you SHOULD be running. That's the version that is being downloaded today. I had to request a second invitation and reinstall. (Unfortunately that was the version I was on when I encountered a problem with accessing the dictionary, so it's not foolproof.)

Something I noticed for those of you that came from the leaked version to the new version. Do you recall when hitting the SYM button that if you hit it again once in symbol area the number pad came up? Well this version doesn't do that. You must click SYM then hold down abc 123 button for a sec in order for that number pad to show up.
For those that just now got swype, you might not have known about the secret number pad feature. it comes in handy for me.

Good news. If you simply swype from the "swype key" to "D" on the "abc" keyboard you'll get the number pad. Works if you swype to "F" as well.

Nope, mine's the same.

That's odd. I could see if I swped from swype key to N but D and F? Ah well. Good trick none the less thanks for posting that.

If you're crazy then it's spreading. I had some free time this morning and spent two hours on my phones browser. When I quit, my battery was down to 30% charge. That's a huge difference from what I usually lose in that time. The battery screen shows only 2% of my charge going to Swype, but the only thing new on my phone is the Swype beta.
