Swype Android Beta!!

Not going to lie this is a little stupid, first you register and then you download the "installer" then you login then you download........

Maybe just post the apk???? Seriously.....

Swype wants a record of those beta testing the software.

Did that, unistalled the leaked Swype and downloaded the installer. Then I get a Parsec error and when I try from Astro, it says it can't open it. What should I be doing?

I had the same problem when I was trying to download it from xScope browser. Tried using the stock browser and it worked fine. I think. The Swype Installer installed, I logged in through the Installer app and it is now downloading the Swype keyboard as I type.

Double tapping a word to get the suggestion window was not working for me also, but is now? All I did was configure options to disable vibrate and sounds.

Testing swype beta.its way cleaner than the leaked version but out doesn't seem to automatically put spaces after periods like the leaked version did.see.

weird I disabled that as well and mine doesn't work. I'll try fiddling around with it.

Working great, thanks for the heads-up... only thing I don't like is this will likely be a limited (i.e. timed) trail/testing period... after which the app will probably be disabled (going by what Swype has said on their site)... so then we are left to wonder if they are possibly going to support Android via the market or if we are just SOL until/unless Moto picks it up??

I had the leaked version, deleted it/uninstalled and installed beta - rebooted a couple of times (not due to Swype) and after rebooting I received an error message to the effect of "This version of swype not for this phone, functionality will be limited. Please contact Swype."

Not exactly what I was looking for the leaked version was stable as stable could be.

Anyone experience this?

I just installed it and found the same error. Are you rooted and on 2.1?

I'm using the latest SmokedGlass ROM and it won't let me delete the old "leaked" Swype in it. I can't install the beta version. I tried uninstalling from Applications and checking my SD card for the apk (there was none in my SD card). I tried to install over it also, but nothing happens. I'm still stuck with the "leaked" version that came with SmokedGlass ROM.

i was wondering the same thing... amazing how some of these guys can't help us:(

Denlem, I am running BB1.1 (2.01). Ended up deleting any and all Swype files (installer and app) and reinstalling it. Up and running now - not the most elegant fix, but as long as it is working, I won't complain. . .

I'm having same issue with smoked glass, i have leaked version and cannot uninstall, i can find the file but it says uninstall failed.. If i go to manage application, there is no option to uninstall. I'm thinking its some kind of bug with smoked glass 5.0, I will be keeping an eye see if there is a fix

My phone (DroidMod) was working fine before, but since installing it can't stop rebooting. Everytime I start it up it reboots.. Not sure if it's related but it sure is pissing me off!!! Especially because I've been drinking/about to go to a party/need to call people to get let in. All I want to do is uninstall!! Too buzzed to do anything technical!
