After wiping everything, Go to mounts/storage in clockwork. The top line will say mount/system. Click it once. It will then say unmount/system (that means it's mounted). Then go back one screen and install zip from sd. Install cm7gb. When it's done, install gapps. Then reboot.

I just flashed the 8/29 update and could not get the mobile hotspot icon off of the pulldown bar. It was in the notification area after I turned on wifi. I rebooted and it went away.

Which is it?

He means Clockwork Recovery, or the green screen where you flash ROMs. If you aren't on CM7, use Droid 2 bootstrap.

If what idopa suggests doesn't work, then I'd suggest you drop back to the basics...

SBF to Froyo
Boot up, don't set anything up on the phone, skip through any config.
Root (Z4Root)
Bootstrap/launch recovery
SBF to GB Leak
Boot up, don't set anything up on phone
Bootstrap/Launch recovery
Wipe cache/dalvik cache
Install latest CM7GB nightly
Boot up and pray...

...Well, i flashed the new unoff nightly. For some reason my 3g speeds are....non existent. Im running a smooth 50-60 kbps down and a much better 600 kbps up(which is weird) , ping 132ms. My signal strength is from -71db to -80db.

I reflashed and it was still the same...i dont know what is going on...took me 4mins just to get to the google main page!

Try turning data off and then on again.

Nope! it did help a little. now im at 200kbps.
im going to flash the first nightly and see what happens.

EDIT: nope.. dd nothng. gong to reflash cm7 agan(wpe everythng ths time!) and then the nghtly(sorry my keyboard....s gong out!!)

I flashed the 8/29 build and while I like the addition of tethering, I don't like that tethering randomly shuts itself on, and when I try to shut it off, I get an error message. When I rebooted, it went away, but came back on a short time later. HELP!

Also, I'm in the process of calibrating my battery (letting it run down right now), and with all I've done so far this morning, it's still at 80%. Apparently, even uncalibrated, battery life is great.

I've got the same issue with the tethering and the icon in the status bar. It seems to come on when I plug into USB and then won't turn itself off. My only complain thus far with this ROM. Otherwise it is smoking fast and I love it!
