[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

I did find the
BL_D235_cdma_droid2_Consumer_replacer_HSPart.zip
after countless hours of google fishing.

Sad news, Still no luck. It flashed fine but its doing the same thing Bootloader 2.37 was doing.
As I'm reading through posts about this issue I keen coming across the term "liquid damage". I have a feeling it does not refer to water.

The constant going back to bootloader is a sign of liquid (water, soda, beer, etc.) damage on a D2.

I recently got a refurbished Droid 2, (the other one's camera wouldn't focus) and I made a backup of the CM74D2 rom that I was on. Would it be safe to simply boot up the rom from that backup (if I take all of the appropriate steps to get to GB of course). I'd like to be sure before I screw something up. I can't quite remember whether or not i made a backup of all of my apps and texts prior to switching, so it would behoove me to restore from the backup if possible. The keyboard on this refurbished one is flat, while the one with the broken camera is raised. I haven't seen or heard of any known changes that were made to the newer model D2s internally, and I'd like to not fubar the phone before I even get it up and running like a real phone should be. Thanks! :icon_ banana:

Should not be an issue - I restored backups from one D1 to another when I was going through six D1 refurbs before finally getting a D2. I've switched between ROM backups on my D2 (MIUI to CM7) w/out issue.

Lol! I thought I was going nuts too droid2drummer. I kept looking at the new one, and then looking at the refurb scratching my head. My wife's keyboard is also raised on her D2, and I was seriously confused. I was thinking that they had somehow switched the keyboard with the D1, but then I remembered that the D1 had the mouse thing on it. I actually called a place about switching the keyboards out, and I was told that the newer model D2s shipped with the flatter keyboards. EPIC FAIL! The rep that I spoke too about getting the same model D2 that I originally PAYED for with the raised keyboard seemed to not have a clue as to what I was talking about. Ahhh well. I didn't notice anything different about the stock rom. It wasn't on my phone too long before I rooted and was ready for the backup. I'm back up and running now. Thank you!

Since going to the CM7 with the GB kernel .. I was able to take one picture and one video, and since I took the video, my camera freezes on me everytime I open it. It will open and you can see through the view finder and that does not freeze, but the camera app itself (buttons, etc.) are frozen. After about 10 seconds I get an option to FC or wait. I FC it, and it won't work till I reboot, which when I try to use it again it freezes. Any thoughts on this? It worked and then stopped working on the 8/28 build and has never worked on the 8/30 build.

I've seen that too flipping back and forth from the camera to the gallery. Hardlocks the phone and then you have to pull the battery.
