I finally got out of Bootloader hell. Thanks for all the advice, you guys are awesome!!
I'm kinda pissed that I can't pinpoint the problem. I had tried it several times with both ezSBF & RSDlite on my work PC & laptop....nada. I came home and used ezSBF on my desktop. It worked the first time. Wish you could have seen the smile on my face when I saw that Motorola logo.
So glad to hear you got it worked out! I don't know exactly what you are feeling (I've never been borked for quite THAT long) but I did spend 4 hours trying to return my phone to working state once, and that was long enough for me!
I'm not going to do anything w/the new release until I hear from Rev and the devs that the new kernel (which I'm assuming the update includes) will work with CM74D2-GB...would be nice if the baseband/radio were available as a separate update as the DX radios have been.

The process would be to update to the new release, and then install our custom ROMs back on top of it.
The update likely includes a new kernel, and does include a new baseband (BP_C_01.09.13P - our current baseband is .10P).
The new Baseband should, if Moto/Verizon did their work right, provide improved reception and/or battery life.
What a new kernel would provide isn't as easy to predict, but generally improved battery life/stability might be on the list.
But we need to hear from Rev about whether changes are required in CM74D2-GB to work with the new kernel. Also need to confirm the new GB Root exploit that works on the D3, etc., will work on the official D2 GB update - it should, but need confirmation.
We could update the baseband immediately if there was a way to do that, but P3Droid hasn't released a baseband only update option (he typically releases these things, has provided baseband-only updates for the DX in the past.)
Rev just said he's going to check out the new GB update. Since the new init-2 is supposed to be kernel agnostic, hopefully we'll hear good news soon and be able to back-up our current CM7GB setups, update to the new release, root, bootstrap, and then restore our CM7GB backups (or flash the latest CM7 nightly if starting fresh is best) to have CM7 over the new kernel and baseband.
While we wait for the new update, I have found a bug for the 8/30 update. My wireless keeps turning itself on. I turn it off and within 5 mins it is back on.
