I messed with the SGSII while in London a few weeks ago. Friends there report the device can run hot and be a little rough on battery life, so 1.5 ghz would seem a diminished return.

BTW, they have far more device selection and kind of makes the US backward for phone releases.

Couple more.
This one is indoors, there is a window up behind that couch, and its shaded by white blinds. Still washes out.

Then this one I shaded the lens with my hand, cleared it up quite a bit. Still tho you wouldn't think it would be so sensitive to that.

Yeah, my inside pictures look like crap without editing em in some way, too. Good thing I don't sit inside my house taking pictures of myself constantly.

Im kinda upset that I just got my d2g a month ago, and I had no knowing or warning that the d3 would come out now. I really want it! It is like the smartphone of all smartphones. But without 4g, but there is hardly any 4g anywhere right now so im indifferent about that.

Dont worry I felt the same way when I got the original DROID, the the X came out right after. Since then, I came online, found these forums, and will never make that mistake again!

According to the about phone menu, the D3is already on 2.3.4

Last I checked we need a different version of the Gapps.. I ran it on the droid1

Version 1.3 of GTalk should be the one with video chat capabilities. If you go into GTalk>Settings and scroll down and see a "Voice & Video chat settings" section, then you have the right app.

Has anyone tried low light picture, indoors without a flash ?

D1 was horrible....I'm curious about D3.

I ordered some off ebay that are supposed to be cut to fit entire screen, $4.99 for 5 of them, free shipping also.

I'm playing with Zumocast right now and I think I'm going to love this.

I had an issue initially with playback where it said something about a streaming error and ran a string of 'skipping track' messages as it went through the album. Not sure what the issue was. I had just turned off wifi to try it on 3G, though. I rebooted the phone and is now working flawlessly on 3G streaming the tracks. It does plenty of buffering to make playback flawless. I'll have to try it out while driving in a bit.

I'm currently trying to download Abbey Road over 3G, which is working just fine if a bit slow. Doing it over wifi is very quick, less than a minute for the entire album. I may start to retire my old iPod now that I have complete access to my entire library and then some, especially now that at least PowerAmp provides gapless playback on Android (something that STILL is not fixed in the stock player.)

Oh, and Zumocast does stream/playback FLAC!

Wow good call, I saw this sitting in the app tray and just assumed it was more moto bloat, but you are right, this is sweet! I've only used it on wifi so far and quality and speed are both very nice.... looking forward to testing it out on 3g.... looks like I have a new reason to leave my home pc on 24/7 hehe...

The only issue is the bezel seems big... Perhaps room for a 4.3" display instead of the larger bezel? Then again, battery life would take a little hit.

I always thought the same thing..big bezel..bulkier/more weight?
