Every second that passes without word on the Nexus makes me even happier I ditched my OG Droid for a Fascinate a few weeks back. What a world of difference - the wait has not been nearly as bad now that I've got a good phone. Don't get me wrong though, the second the Nexus drops I'm still going to pick one up.

Being a goal-oriented type person, you've totally thrown me off-kilter.

Think about it the way I do. Tonight is the last night before the release where I think I will be able to sleep. I doubt I will get any sleep tomorrow night.
I believe Verizon is leaving an "out", where they have the option of not releasing, but like the 9th, this is the date they are shooting for. I also believe there is something - whether it be google wallet, waiting for 4.1 to be ready, or waiting on the stars to align - that Verizon is waiting to be certain they are launching. And I really think they do want to get this phone out, no later than the 15th, to maximize 4th quarter sales.
But to leave themselves the out, they are not announcing or advertising until they are absolutely certain they are releasing. Which may not happen until the 15th. So yes, this phone could possibly be released without an announcement until the 15th or any advertising until the 15th.
Or it could be delayed again, but I think they will do everything they can to release this Thursday.
Unfortunately I'm thinking "damn, two more finals" LOL

Hahahhaa. I just have one at 4:30 today, and on Thursday morning at the same time as you. But I'm not too worried because even if I don't show up to either final, I'll still get at least a 74%, which is what I need for the class to count as a prerequisite. :biggrin:
I haven't had a final since May 2010 and that makes me happy :-D

Is Google Wallet the "confirmed" cause of the delay? In my opinion that is sort of hard to believe. After all, apparently they called off the launch a day and a half before it was supposed to sell. Kind of hard to imagine such a short-notice change is because of Google Wallet.
Now, the 4G being down is more understandable in my eyes. It seems like they didn't change the launch date until everyone was flipping out over the 4G connection being down.
I tend to agree - Not selling the phone with stock taking up space does absolutely nothing to maximize shareholder value - unless there are legitimate issues to address (final software updates to be available on release, ensuring sufficient stock levels at all stores, etc.). And for all that people moan about Verizon's failure to launch, they've never said anything publicly other than end of year.

I don't know what we are going to do once the phone releases... post counts don't really stand for all that much, so I doubt we will do anything unless there are complaints...

I don't think it's google wallet either. I have read some rumors that they are waiting for 4.1 to be ready (since the phone will get an immediate update after activation anyway). But I agree - I believe the delay last week was the issues with LTE. Have those issues been resolved? I don't know - my Bionic was having issues through the weekend, but seems to be more stable on 4g now, so maybe they have.
But Verizon is somewhat saying that the delay is being caused by google, which could mean it's the 4.1 issues, but that could just be Verizon trying to deflect.
