Verizon Releases Official Statement Regarding Galaxy Nexus, But It Doesn’t Get Us Off of Square One

Problem with that is that AndroidandMe is their source the article... so it really adds nothing to the picture except PhanDroid's writer's personal speculations...

anybody want to discuss the likely hood of the next nexus phone will be a moto? and if google will own moto maybe more of their phones will be closer to vanilla google like the D1

I don't think moto has any more or less of a chance in the future than they have in the past. My guess is that the association of Moto/Google will lead to an even more transparent process to selecting the Nexus OEM than in the past to encourage the other companies that there is no favoritism and everyone has a fair shot.

Wow, finally got caught up in the other thread. Think I threw up on the emotional roller coaster.

"Yeah, it's releasing!"
"Grrr....look at this release from Verizon!"
"I have an appt for tomorrow!"
"No stores will confirm so it must be delayed"

And then it just went plain negative. I'm not going back over there. Way too negative. You guys here are sending way more positive vibes!

Verizon saying they will issue a release to announce availability doesn't necessarily mean that their release will come before the release of the phone. If the phone does launch tomorrow they could issue a release stating "The Galaxy Nexus is now available."

Well, on the 8th, my buddy texted me at 857am, right before his store opens to tell me it was a no go. Haven't gotten anything about aborting yet today, and he's working today. So I guess that's good news so far. I think it would be funny, if verizon stores didn't hear anything from verizon and just started selling it anyway.

Ok, called the BJ's in Islandia, NY and the lady told me that she just received her launch kit this morning but hasn't been given the go ahead to sell it yet. Make of that what you will. If any of you live on Long Island or just want to verify this info the number is (631) 348-3591.

Also.... the statement said "We will definitely send a press release to announce availability"..... That could imply as much that they are going to announce when it is available, not when it will be available. It's like they are telling us "Hold on to your britches, stuff's about to get real!"

Just to be safe... all of the gun owners following this forum should give ALL of their firearms to a responsible person who is NOT awaiting the Nexus release. Ask them to lock them away in a safe place until after the release of the phone. Also, please call you doctor for a prescription for some valium to hold you over until the phone releases. I don't want to see any of your pictures on the front page of the newspaper...that's never a good place to be. If it does release tomorrow, you get your guns back right away...but no celebratory firing in the air!

Called two of my local stores. Told the same thing by the both of them. They are awaiting word through email to know for sure if its to be released tomorrow.
