[Theme] 928Droid Black Glass X for DROID 2 !!!

Yeah I used xUltimate.. The latest version of it too.

But I made sure everything passed before I applied the theme, as I said, i'm new to all this so im leaning towards my end as well, but it's a waiting game to see.

I have to say this is one of the BEST looking themes I have ever used. I have tried everything possible for the D1 and now this, but there are a few issues I have found. I have noticed that this theme causes my MUSIC app to double up, as well as my messaging. It actually has the Messaging app, then also after theme it adds Text Messaging, which causes me to receive the incoming text twice. The music issue was a easy fix by using Root Explorer and renaming one music .apk to .bak, but I haven't found a fix for the messaging. The Text Message apk won't open, yet if you remove Messages you won't be able to text anyone back, or open the text. Has anyone else had this issue? I have wiped data and cache multiple times and went on w/ out the theme over my epic 2.5, the them is what adds these two. I have ALSO made sure that titanium has not ran and accidentally included music or text messaging as a file to my phone. Any help would be great, so I can get back to sporting this sexy theme.

After all of that, I do know that this was for a stock rom. The theme works fine for Epic 2.5 except those two issues.

THANKS!!

Your issues are because Epic must have added in a different Music app and Mms app. Not much I can do about that.

But, those are excelent results putting a Theme on a ROM it is not designed for :-)

OH, be aware, the "non stock" Music apps do not play nice with the stock CarDock app.. Of course if that has been replaced with the nornal 2.2 CarHome, then it doesn't matter.

Contacts doesnt open from the icon in the app drawer

karnovaran,

Can you confirm this for me please on your install too ????
I can confirm - contacts crashes from the app drawer.

Has anyone tried it from the BLur Home Launcher??? I don't expect different results...just curious.

Will create a patch/update today with a different BlurContacts for you guys to try, sorry about that.

OH, just to clarify.... when you open the Phone/Dialer... can you get to the Contacts OK from there ???????

That is correct. Contacts crashes from the app drawer, a home screen icon and the car dock. It will open normally from the dialer \ contacts tab.

I did try clearing the cache but that didn't help. I am using LauncherPro, switched to Blur but had the same results.

Cool, thanks that helps me a lot.

Another data point - finally got to give this a go, and I'm in boot loop wonderland. :)

Installed this over the 2.3.15 leak (wiped /System as a part of 2.3.15 install, did not wipe data for the 2.3.15 install or this theme install). Everything was running fine before installing the theme.

Use ROM Manager Install ZIP from SD card.

Phone has gotten as far as lock screen and me starting to type in my PIN one time, mostly it gets to the lock screen and then reboots.

Gonna try a battery pull to see if that helps...

Nope - still looping. Going to go back to my Nandroid and await the patched version later today to see if that helps.

My Theme is for OFFICIAL Stock ROMs only. Obviously not to be used with the Droid 2 "2.3.15 leak".

I have done the Droid X Official 2.3.15 , but haven't downloaded and checked out this Droid 2 "2.3.15 leak" yet. Quite frankly I don't recommend this leak at the moment, not sure if there is anything to gain...but incompatibility with current Themes and ROMs. It also doesn't make sense, at least to me, that this "Official Droid 2 Leak" would have the same software version # as the OTA Droid X release...another reason to proceed with caution.

OK...I went back and looked at your first post and realized that I mis-read it...

This also has the latest Froyo 2.3.15 apps etc and also has the lastest Gmail, Maps, Google Quick Search, and Google Voice Search apps and other tweeks.

I wasn't paying attention, and took that to mean that the theme was built off the 2.3.15 leak, as opposed to what you actually said, that it just integrated the new apps/etc. from 2.3.15.

My bad, that's what I get for not paying attention in class. :) Luckily, that's what Nandroids are made for.

I can report that there appears to be one nice fix in 2.3.15 on the D2 - contacts who have a facebook account linked to it no longer have a phone number blocked from view when you look at the contact.

Try to remember, system apps is one thing...BUT framework files are a whole nuther deal..and is the heart of the system...and incorrect/incompatible versions can cause the most Bootloops of all :-)

Yup...not an issue of lack of knowledge, more an issue of attention span deficit. :D

LOL...that's all I need, more drugs. <eek!>

So are you going to release the 2.3.15-enhanced D2 theme today as a full re-release, or as a patch file to the version you released yesterday?

Wondering if I should wait for a new full release, or flash current and get a patch file later today/tomorrow/whenever.

I'm going to flash back to 2.2.20 - can I flash the new version over my previous setup - 2.2.20 stock/deodexed w/your deodexed theme applied?

Or do I need to go all the way back to stock/deodexed 2.2.20 to apply it?
