[Theme] 928Droid Black Glass X for DROID 2 !!!

I've applied this them and i'm deodexed and have a couple questions:

1. I don't have the 5 buttons at the bottom like the screen capturs do, is that the ADW launcher update thing? I have 3.

2. Weather bug temp in the notification bar is black along with the additional weather bug info when u drag the notification bar open. Is it suppose to be skinned?

Depends your ADW settings, orif you are using the stock Blue Home Launcher.

Weather bug is a Market app that is not included in the Theme. Unfortunately the app does not get it's Notification color code from the system as it should. Contact the Weatherbug DEV and ask him to change it....if enough people ask maybe they will finally do it.

I haven't changed anything, i'm running stock Froyo 2.2. I'm asking if thats how it's suppose to be when u just straight up apply the theme. How do i get the 5 buttons? I currently have the black phone icon, white circle with a red arrow(app button), and the black contacts button.

I asked about the weather bug thing because in the screen shots on the first page the temp for weather bug in the notification bar aren't black like mine.

You are running the stock Launcher, if you want the ADW launcher it is a separate update.zip... Look in the sdcard/928droid folder.

I don't use Weatherbug, but was told you can change the settings for the status bar (not the pull down notify bar).. Check the apps settings.

Love the theme on my D2. You put in a lot of effort as evidenced by the detail. I have been using this theme for about a week and have noticed one thing that I am not sure is the way it was intended. On my google search I have the words "Go back to letters by touch" overlaying the lower right hand part of the keyboard. I have the odexed file system and downloaded the proper version. I have attached a screen shot. Thank you again for the excellent work.

ADW Launcher and Launcher Pro (free and paid versions) are two home replacement apps available - the best two available, IMHO.

I'd suggest you try both - I prefer launcher pro (seems to run smoother/faster on my Droid).

You are the second person with Odexed to report that... it is an oddity I haven't figured out yet. Hopefully it will go away when I release "r3" later this week.

Im having a hell of a time. Im new to this so here is what I have done. Also, I plan to donate a few dollars once I get this thing installed properly so thanks for your work.

  • Running stock ROM on Droid 2
  • Using ADW Launcher
  • Rooted
  • Have bootstrap and ROM Manager
  • Downloaded your file for deodexed phones to computer desktop and extracted files and put the folder in the base of the SD card
  • Downloaded the ADW patch file to computer and extracted files and put the folder in the base of the SD card
  • Rebooted into recovery mode
  • Did a full backup
  • mount/system
  • mount/sdcard
  • toggle signature verification to "disabled"
  • found the the file names 928DroidBlackGlassX-Droid2-DeOdex-r2-THEME/ and clicked enter
  • That brought me to see three more choices META-INF, sdcard, and system
  • Chose "system" and then chose "sdcard" and it brings me to the ADW patch.
  • It then brings me to a list that says "No" a whole bunch of times and one that says "Yes - Install928DroidBlackGlassX-ADWLaunche...and then the files name is too long so it cuts it off. Installed this item
  • Then I chose "reboot system now"
  • It reboots and the only thing that has changed is the UI bar so I know im doing something wrong
My guess is that I have only installed the patch for ADW launcher but not the actual theme. Please help, I really like the theme but cant seem to get it installed.

Thanks

Dude, the files you dowloaded and unzipped are now JUNK... Download new versions and NEVER EVER unzip ANY update.zip file. They are designed to install as is. Just placve the zip on your sdcard and install with Recovery.

FYI, you can rename them, just don't unzip them.

do the zip files need to remain on the sd card? and if so, will it change anything if i rename them after installation so i know what it is?

No they do not need to stay there. But if you have some you want to keep, create a folder on the sdcard called UpdateZips (or whatever) and move them there for future use.

i just installed this and everything went fine but i had to restore to epic 2.0. when i tried typing on the physical keyboard, the p key went to music, the c key went to calendar, and the g key went to gmail. any reason why that would happen? i liked this theme , so if you know what i did wrong could you tell me which version to install? i installed the deodexed version for the d2

It is more important to know what version you have BEFORE you install a Theme. In post #1 there is a section in the Theme FAQ about confirming if you are Odexed or DeOdexed....my guess is you installed my DeOdexed Theme over your Odexed ROM....then all sorts of wierd things start happening.

All of my Themes are VERY specific, this is also outlined in the same Theme FAQ area in Post#1... you can't just mix and match this stuff, it just doesn't work that way.
