[Theme] 928Droid Black Glass X for DROID 2 !!!

i just installed this and everything went fine but i had to restore to epic 2.0. when i tried typing on the physical keyboard, the p key went to music, the c key went to calendar, and the g key went to gmail. any reason why that would happen? i liked this theme , so if you know what i did wrong could you tell me which version to install? i installed the deodexed version for the d2

It is more important to know what version you have BEFORE you install a Theme. In post #1 there is a section in the Theme FAQ about confirming if you are Odexed or DeOdexed....my guess is you installed my DeOdexed Theme over your Odexed ROM....then all sorts of wierd things start happening.

All of my Themes are VERY specific, this is also outlined in the same Theme FAQ area in Post#1... you can't just mix and match this stuff, it just doesn't work that way.

i looked in the system framework folder and didnt find and odex files so i assumed it was deodexed. should i try the odexed then?

Double check the System/app folder to be sure, if there are no .odex files to be found you are definitely DeOdexed. Do you know if you are running the Stock DeOdexed ROM? Or something else?

that might be the problem im using epic 2.0 that came out recently. what should i do? i tried odexed and i had no service and the settings options was gone , so clearly i need deodexed. but it didnt work :(

EDIT AGAIN: ok. i restored my phone to before i had the epic 2.0 rom. everything works great now and im happy to have swype!!! only problem is all the text in the status bar is black!!!! (but it wasnt black when i went to this from epic 2.0) do you know of any fix? sorry for the numerous questions :/

Not positive but it sounds like you installed the deodexed theme onto the Epic 2.0 ROM. I dont think that will work as this theme is meant to be used on the stock ROM. That is prob what caused the chaos. Then you restored the phone to the stock ROM which is odexed. So I would think unless you have manually deodexed your phone (you would know if you did this trust me) you should now be using the odexed theme. Try restoring your phone back to the pre Epic 2.0 point and then install the odexed theme.

Dave:

I spaced and didn't remove installed Google Maps updates before installing the Maps zip update that you provided.

Things seem to work fine, and Maps is well themed...I presume leave well enough alone, or should I bother to back up and do things in the specified manner?

Dave:

I've found what appears to be one issue w/the theme...when adding a new event in the calendar, when setting the time, the AM/PM toggle button is black text on black background.

When you tap on it, it briefly flashes white text on red background, and returns to black on black.

Stock ROM or Other???

If Stock, DeOdexed or Odexed?

Also if you open the Calendar app, then Menu>More>Settings and scroll down to the bottom and give me the Build Version #.

Thanks.

Attached is MetaMorph Theme to add the Text Battery Status Icons.....

Was coming back to add the info I realized you'd need and you'd already asked. :)

Stock D2 ROM.

Deodexed.

Menu>More>Settings>Build 2.2

Nothing else added since your theme (other than apps I may have installed from the market).

Thanks.

Dave: Myself and others on the D2 forum are getting consistent failed downloads on our D2s from your site. Downloading zip from other sites works fine, from yours it fails immediately.

Message when I go to the failed download is:

- Download unsuccessful. Content not supported by phone.

As noted, zip downloads from other sites work fine. Is there anything you can do to fix this? Prefer to skip downloading from my PC and connecting D2 to transfer files...

WIll check into it, for now if you have Astro File Manager (if not get it, it's free) go to the settings, and Check Allow Browser to Download all file type (or something similar)

Issues installing theme

I am having one heck of a time installing this theme. I have a rooted droid 2 on the stock rom, so i downloaded the odexed version, renamed them file to update and put it on the root of the SD. I used clockworkmod to install update.zip, but i get nothing upon reboot. What file is supposed to be renamed? The main file with the 3 folders in it? Any help would be appreciated. I've done a ton of themes and roms on droid 1, but for some reason I am stumped here.

You should not have to rename a zip to install it w/Clockwork Recovery - it doesn't care what the name of the file is.

You should just put 928DroidBlackGlassX-Droid2-Odex-r2-THEME.zip onto your SD card and select it to install.

What does "...I get nothing upon reboot" mean? What exactly happened when you rebooted?

Thanks...I believe I've only had this problem w/the 928Droid site so far, so nothing urgent. I had forgotten about that setting in Astro - messes w/Gmail attachments, but nice to remember it's there.

BTW: Are you considering supporting the Tranquility or Epic D2 ROMs that are available?

Sorry, I should have elaborated on "nothing" a little more. By that I mean it will reboot and not have any theme at all, just stock like it was. I basically added that file that you posted, the "downloaded" file on my root, tried it w/ out .zip and with .zip (i have seen before that .zip is not required because im on a mac), yet the only thing that will install from clockwork is just the ADW themed .zip in the settings folder. Any ideas? Im deff not new to the themes, just stuck here.

Thanks for your help, I finally got the theme on my droid. The issue was the Mac automatically unzipping, and turns out during root somewhere it deodexed my phone, I was not aware of that. That was why it kept showing an error on the odexed file. Thanks again for your help

I JUST rooted my D2, so do I need to install a custom rom? Or can i just apply the theme?

What all am i going to have to do to get this up and running? If this question has already been answered i apologize for the double post.

Also, what apps to buy? Ofc Bootstrapper for D2, but anything else?
