[Theme] 928Droid Black Glass X for Droid X !!!

thanks for the criticism but in that time spent typing maybe you could've at least answer part of my question

Simply put, if you can't figure it out by now, you really shouldn't even be messing with this. As hacku stated, this isn't for everyone. You unfortunately fall into that category.

Just be content with your stock theme.

Like 928 said guys, let's play nice. I have been theming and loading ROMs since it became available to droid 1 and I completely understand that issues may occur; after all, it is technology and tthjngs tend to go wrong from time to time for all of us. The beauty of this droid community is to help each other out and have the patience to help the ones who are not as advanced. I mean we all started at the beginning and its our responsibility to pick up our fellow droiders when they stumble. :-)

I put the file on my sdcard, renamed it, powered my pone off, held Home key|Down Volume Button and power. Chose Install update from sdcard, but get install aborted!! Any Clue as to what i'm doing incorrectly?

Are you rooted? Are you on 2.1 or 2.2?

Droid928, the directions need some tweaking. Are you saying that this is now supported on the leaked 2.2 of the Droid X??? If so, the framework is dated for the 19th. That obviously won't work. Does the patch basically skip the installation of the framework for 2.2? So, basically the only thing that is themed are the applications???

It needs to be made A LOT more clear.

Assuming you are using ClockworkMod recovery using koush's bootstrap.
There is an option the says toggle signature verification or something like that, click that and turn off signature verification.
I think that's why you are getting that error.

Koush's bootstrap is an update.zip and at the moment, I cant get any update.zip to install.

Edit: I dont find that setting.

Edit 2: I did flash the leaked froyo, but since have used the SBF to go back to the .604 version. Could this be my issue?

Koush's bootstrap is a apk file just like every other app on the phone. You can download it from the market or go to http://www.koushikdutta.com/ and look for the apk file there.

Download it, open it and click bootstrap recovery. Then click reboot recovery. Once you are in ClockworkMod recovery not motorola's, go to backup/restore and make a backup. (Navigate by using volume keys and select using camera button, go back is power button. ) you will use this backup in case you mess up your phone. Now go to apply sd: update.zip(click the camera button to open it) and there should be an option that say toggle signature verification or something. Click it and then turn off. Now try installing the update.zip. this should work as long as you are in CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY NOT MOTOROLA'S RECOVERY.

o and the reason the froyo update.zip installed in motorolas recovery was bc it is digitally signed, if you install koush's clockworkmod recovery you can disable signature verification and install the update.zip but only through clockworkmod never motorolas unless the file came from motorola.

If you did a sbf flash you will need to root it first before you can install koush's bootstrap recovery. After its rooted download the bootstrap app and follow my instructions above

Ok kewl, my only remaining issue now is, the file I downloaded is a .zip(DroidXBootstrap), what I understand is to change that to .apk, then install... Is this correct?

Im not sure why it is a zip file just go to

http://koush.tandtgaming.com//motorola/droidx/DroidXBootstrap.apk

And save it as DroidXBootstrap.apk

If renaming the file you already have to .apk works then use that, if not just download it from the website above
Install it and follow the steps from my previous post
