Verizon announces HTC Thunderbolt with March 17th release date

I'd like to lock in that 29.99 unl. 4G data... but I'd be 'locking' in a price for something that's not even available in my area....

I'm lucky to be in a 4G area, but even without it I'd do a 2-year contract on the TB to get unlimited no matter how hawt the pending dual-core's specs are. For me it's a no brainer. I need a new phone now, and this is a good phone for a decent price with a chance to get unlimited on 4G. YAY!

OK, lets see if we get the email...Although I'm sure they already have the email/text and servers ready to go...There shouldnt be any delay if its coming from Verizon

Well, the other thing that hasn't been announced is exactly when it will be available for order online (we know in-store on the 17th). I have to order mine online since I am a business account. I asked my rep when it will be available, but she hasn't yet heard.

I think I am going to stay up late on the 16th into the 17th until I see it. I remember with the Droid X, it actually showed up online at 7pm the night before it was released in-stores... hope the TBolt is the same!

I'd love to lock in the 4G unlimited but I wonder if I'd like a dual core more though. I'm not a fan of Motorola's locked bootloader but then again I've got my DX customized exactly the way I like it.

Touch decision if I want to upgrade or not.

Get it at Wirefly, it's preordering for $199.

I haven't been following all the news that closely, but I remember hearing about the quick battery drain issues. Has this been addressed?

Yeah where's the pre-sale?

Anybody have any experience with Wirefly? How is it that they are selling the TB for $199? And, whatever happened to Best Buy's retail exclusivity?

It's been suggested this was skype and it will be fixed in an OTA update.
I hope, but I also remember seeing that the battery capacity is low compared to other smartphones, so one shouldn't expect great battery life out of this anyways.

I'm going to hold off for a few days to see what the real world results with this phone are before buying one.

There will be no pre-sale from big red due to supply. Your only pre-order options are BB(which is all gone now) and wirefly(which has a nice double ETF.)

In Store?

Do you know if they just take the order and ship the phone, or if they actually have stock?

Best Buy's retail exclusivity is for physical stores, which wirefly is not.
Wirefly is very good from what I hear - they can sell the phone at any price they want, they just make less money on it if they do.
