Verizon announces HTC Thunderbolt with March 17th release date

Anybody have any experience with Wirefly? How is it that they are selling the TB for $199? And, whatever happened to Best Buy's retail exclusivity?

I don't think BB was ever exclusive... if it was, I wouldn't hold it against VZW to cancel the exclusivity because of all the shenannigans with the leaked Tweets and Stock orders, etc.

They're exclusive for physical retailers other than VZW corporate stores. So you won't see this phone in Target.
It means very little, but it does mean something, I guess.

Do you know if they just take the order and ship the phone, or if they actually have stock?

Since I order through a Business account it may work differently, but they ship it out from a depot after I place the order. I can get it shipped overnight.
I thought you had a pre-release TB? So you can't keep it?

I hope the 3 VZW stores around me have enough in stock. Anybody hear of an extended battery?

I heard of an extended battery...but it is NOT that much bigger..

IMHO it is not worth it!

It is a pre-production Demo phone. I wouldn't want to keep it even if I could as they have likely made some changes on the final production model.

As far as extended battery, I will be purchasing one. I got one for my Droid X and actually got the "stock" battery cover to fit on (not that I can with the TBolt), but the extra time it gives me is very valuable as I don't have to charge it until dinner on a work day.

Exactly. I would die without my extended battery on the DX. I can live with some bulk but I'm already used to the huge DX so I don't think the TB will be much different.

I can't seem to figure out what type of charger the HTC thunderbolt will have? From the pictures it looks like the OG Droid's charger might work? Can anyone confirm this?

I'm very strongly considering an HTC Thunderbolt. Assuming it doesn't have the WiFi problems that my OG Droid does (can't keep wifi reliably) and that 4G has been in my area since December, I'm going to do this. 8GB of internal memory sounds too good to be true. :)

I hear the TB is about as wide as the bump on the DX even without an extended battery. That might be why they have such a small battery in it to begin with - they didn't want the battery to make the phone even bigger.
