Not sure if this was said yet but they are only going to throttle the top 5% 3g users only. 4g is unaffected.

You cant seperate the manufacturers and the big telcos. They work to close with each other and one cant exist without the other. Thats why they even subsidize phones and sign exclusive contracts. Having a progressive network is exactly why we have smart phones. Without a network they would be worthless. Both network technology and phone technology builds on each other. The problem is the telcos are pushing these smart phones and not backing them up with their networks but instead going for the money grab. How are data packages getting more expensive when the back end technology is getting cheaper? Its insane. 4g is actually cheaper to implement but yet they have a soft cap of 5gb. Text messages have a max size of 140 bytes and ride in on the tower ping that happens no matter what but yet they charge you out the ass for them? Im going to get off the soap box now lol. Heres a good read:

That makes no sense for them to do that. If they will do it to one they should do it to both. But they should also tell people about this by letting them know they are about to go over a limit of some kind.
I know it doesn't but that is what was said from verizon, I just hope heavy 4g users don't freak out

<yawn>
Why is it that no matter what thread I go to in the "news" forum, it's the same two groups of people arguing the exact same freaking points of view?

I've got bad news for you 4GLTE users. At the bottome of this mobile Verizon site, you can clearly see that it states the speed will be reduced to the top 5% users also

Ahhh...I feel better now. Please continue the pointless "debate." I'm sure that with just one more post you'll convince your opponents of the legal/moral/rational/logical/analogous superiority of your point of view. They're wavering, even now, in the clutches of your superior rhetoric. Don't flag now that you're so close to victory! Hammer them while they're weak and victory will be yours!
Win!
[rant] lol...you misunderstand. I've been here since nearly the beginning of this forum (three digit member number) and there's basically two groups of people who move from one thread to another and argue the same points, ad nauseum. After this many years, I can't believe any of them think they're going to change each others' minds. There's the one group who thinks Verizon has the right to set whatever service restrictions, prices, and TOS terms they want since they are the service provider, regardless of how intrusive and deceptive those practices may be and the other group who thinks that they should be able to do whatever the phone hardware allows them to, regardless of how it may violate the TOS they signed and they essentially see it all as a big technological game of who can program better, the devs or the service provider.
Oh, then there's the Apple shills who have nothing to say except how iOs is superior and Apple acts no differently than any other hardware/software company out there but they try to say it in such a manner that they don't come off sounding like Apple shills. :icon_ nono2:
