verizon just sent me an update to 5.9.901

I thank all of the people who post on these forums, if it weren't for you I would be Really lost... now not so much.:hail:

With the exception of the widespread outage VZW had overnight, YES it is better. In just about every way you can imagine.

-Signal strength
-ability to hold onto a 4G signal
-3g/4g/wifi handoff

All of which are better with the 901 update

Was the outage last night?

Thanks. May I forward the twitter link to the Moto mod?

He has some serious explaining to do.

Thanks for the reply,

RMD

Can you post a link to the Moto board?

And to the person asking about the outage. It started late last night and ended this morning.

Frustrating as hell trying to get any information out of these people.

Enjoy.

Did you post my conversation with VZW? Any response? Didn't see it if you did.

By the way, this is so far the phone I thought I was buying 4-1/2 months ago. Its only been 5 hours but wow. A big big difference. No data drops and even with the bloat its much more responsive. Rebooted twice and haven't lost an app installed on the sdcard. Also camera delay is gone.

PM'ed it to the mod. Don't expect much, maybe the courtesy of an answer. They are not big into sharing info over there. Mostly empty platitudes.

Let you know if I hear anything.

Good move. He is more likely to answer that way actually. Do it publicly and he might view it as an attack. That place drives me crazy, there are certainly some PO'd owners in there and they are getting a little hot but there are also a few Moto apologists that have a holier than thou attitudes and belittle the upset bionic owners. And in the meantime as you said Moto provides zero info and help.

Oh the friggin' apologists drive me bonkers, esp one post whore who shall remain nameless. In a way, I feel sorry for the Mod as I think they threw him to the wolves to try to satisfy users while they give him no real info. Typical large American corporation. The left hand doesn't know what the right is doing.

Later.

Besides the update problems I think it's important to remember they are working on the network too. I think many of the lost data issues are the network and not necessarily because people have different updates installed on the bionic.

Don't wanna jump off topic, but kind related. I got a "update" last week as well. But its weird, because It said it was a system update. Mind you I have very basic apps on my phone nothing extravagent.. but yet I checked my system version is 5.5.893.xt875. Not noticing anything diffrent at all

Hey rduckwr

Did you see how they all jumped all over me when I suggested installing the update manually? Man you would of thought I took a big dump in their morning bowl of cereal while they were eating it.

And I think I know exactly what post whore your talking about. He goes well beyond being a moto apologist and hits his knees under the table for moto.
