nope..i dont..and i can be reading the txt that got sent and suddenly the same txt comes again and again..ive had it resent to me up to 4 times

sidewind not sure if this is your problem but on the droid if you have Delivery Reports on it will send a text back to you. as the name might suggest its confirming delivery. go to settings from your msg window and uncheck Delivery Reports. Hope this helps you out.

That is a question for Tech. That is a network feature and I honestly don't know what that does or how it works. If you find out, please let us know. I will try researching the answer as well.

Wake up

Hey Viper,
As you know, the phone automatically wakes up when receiving an incoming call.
Is there any way you know of to change the settings so that an incoming text message will also wake the phone? Its a pain to have to light it up and unlock the droid everytime I hear an incoming text message tone.

Hi Rick, There is a app you can get at the Market called SMS popup, I've been running it for about 2 weeks. Works pretty good and will accomplish what your trying to do along with a couple other neat things, like change the color of the led. check it out

as far as I know the stock app doesnt have the option, however handcent does, its free in the market its really a fantastic free replacement for the sms app that came with the phone.

Viperboy, My friends have told me that when I text them they get the same message multiple times even though I have only sent it once. Also, my friend has been trying to send me pictures via mms and out of all the pix she has sent me only one has come though. The others are not able to be downloaded. Is there a fix for both of these?

It would be very helpful to know whether or not your "friend" is also on Verizon (or another provider).

She does have Verizon, but it's a pre-paid I do believe.

no its not that its just a regular txt being sent more than once..like i said in my area this is happening to alot of verizon people

I think you just might be right. sounds like verizon is having some serious network issues in your area.

Thanks for your time on here answering questions. I just wanted to let you know that I did the steps you mentioned to improve call quality and after it was done I was unable to make calls. I was able to recieve calls but when I would place one, my call would be ended imediately. I switched the setting back and was able to call again. I am in the Wilmington, NC area and on a Alltel plan still. Not sure if this has been mentioned yet. I was unable to read this whole thread. Thanks again for your time!

It seems from other posters that alltell customers have problem with that fix
