My question: My phone (just got it last week) seems to have synched with all my facebook friends, but people like my mom are completely missing from Contacts. I can do a search and find her, but not simply scroll through my Contacts.

Is there some setting that I can try that will fix this? I like my FB friends, but I call my mom a lot more!

She's in your contacts, she just isn't displaying. Go to contacts. Then hit the menu button at the bottom of the phone. Hit display options. Check all the options and she should show up again!

When my Droid is docked or plugged in (charging) I would like to be notified of messages audibly because I am not wearing it and vibrate would be useless.

However, when not docked or charging, it's in my pocket where I want it to vibrate and not notify audibly (distracting for people near me at work).

Basically, I want it to switch between these two states based on whether or not it is plugged in and charging, not by manually going in and changing the settings whenever I plug/unplug it. I haven't yet figured out how to do this, if it is possible. Can you enlighten me please? Do I need a third party app or is this built in? Thanks!

editing email parameters on droid

Viper, I appreciate your being here! I am a new Droid user. I entered my email information, and tested it, all worked fine. With one exception. I mistyped my return email address, which is now sent out with each email I send from the phone. I've looked and cannot find how to edit this mistake of mine. I can edit the pop server, my name, etc, but not the email address associated with the account. HELP!

Hey Viper, i got a quick but important question for you.

Is it safe to play GBA emulators on the Droid? I enjoy playing old Game Boy Advance games on my Droid but i worry that it might harm it. Is my warranty still active if i play these games? Do they in any way corrupt the phone?

Thanks! I checked everything that was under the gmail settings, and unclicked the email address associated with Facebook and all is well now!!!

how are pictures stored?

Viperboy - The system for pictures is hard to fathom. When I downloaded them to my computer there were many duplicates. There is camera media, camer, all pictures etc. also I sne4t a picture to the phone and I see it in the diretory on the computer but not when I unhook the phone. Confused enough?

Hi Viper, thanks for sharing your time on here.

Today I was playing a game on my phone called Project INF, a very popular game (>250,000 downloads, 4 1/2 stars) that normally runs fine. However, as soon as I joined their server and loaded on the map, my phone wouldn't respond. I could see other players moving and chatting, but my touch screen wouldn't work, I couldn't move. So I thought I'd try to restart the game. Pressed home, back, and menu soft keys, but none of them responded, and they didn't light up. I pressed the power button on the top of my phone to make it sleep, and when I pressed it again, it wouldn't turn back on.
Next, I did a battery pull. Was able to restart and get it going. However, the soft keys and keyboard wouldn't light up. I was altering the settings and running differnet apps to try to get it running, which didn't work. Then I tapped the power button again to have it go into sleep mode, pressed it again to wake it, and then they both worked
Should I be concerned that I have a problem in my droid? I've had it for over a month and this is the first major problem ive had with it. Or is this one of those occassional errors that happens on your computer? Thanks

Gmail account seems to be fine and synced. I wake up in the morning and no flashing green light on the Droid. But, when I open up the MAC I have dozens of email from my verizon account. What can I do to trouble shoot this?

Did this happen after the upgrade? If so, try deleting your account and re-establishing it on the droid, it won't affect your online.
Have you checked your spelling on your address?

Auto Text & Notes

Impressive help, thanks for your efforts. I have a lot of notes in my google (gmail) account each contact. All of the notes sync over to the appropriate contact in my droid. However, only a few line items of the notes can be seen on the droid screen for the one specific contact. In order to see the remaining notes on the droid (for the one contact), I must hit the 'edit contact' menu option. All of my notes are then present but they should show up on the main contact screen for that one contact. Please help. Thanks, Adam

getting pdfs to view

When I click on a pdf attachment from a web email site (It's a company outlook email site outlook.xxx.com) with a long press to "open" and all I get is "Waiting for data connection" and then a download bar but it isn't successful - (Dowload unsuccessful) so I can't get anything to view.
