Hi viperboy,

First off, thanks for you help on this thread.

Sometimes when I'm using the default messaging program on my Moto Droid to send an SMS to my wife (she has a Droid Eris) I get a message stating:

"Message Delivered to (phone number) as plain text Destination does not support enhanced messaging service"

Is there a character limit?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, Verizon has a 160 character cap on their text messages. Handcent has the ability to automatically split a 161+ character text into 2 texts or more if necessary

Except for one major issue, I'm happy with my Droid. That issue is font size. The font size on the email apps is just too small. Even with glasses, it's a strain. I can't understand why Verizon/Motorola did not provide a means to adjust font size, and why they're not addressing this essential accessibility issue. I decided to keep my Droid but if this issue is not addressed soon, I will be forced to give it up. Almost everyone I know has a problem with this.

Will the next software update include an ability to adjust font size?

At the very least, why isn't there an external app that will provide this crucial feature in the meantime?

Where can we write to (at Verizon and Motorola) to make sure this issue is at the forefront and taken seriously?

Thanks!
How come no response to my question about font size in Moto Droid email programs? It's a pressing issue, and I'm anxious for a reply. Any information on the status of this issue would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Plastic on back of screen...

Hoping you can settle something for me. This query is generated from another thread regarding custom backings for the Droid:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-accessories/7136-customize-back-your-moto-droids-screen.html

I like the look of these stickers on the back of the screen but no-one in the thread can apparently agree on whether:
a) the plastic that is there now is meant to come off or if it serves a particular function (i.e. is it a protective layer that is meant to come off)
b) if it comes off is it a big deal or should it be serviced/returned (many say it starts to peel off with enough use of the keyboard)
c) will a thin vinyl sticker over or in-place of this plastic have an adverse effect on the screen or any other aspect(s) of the phones performance

Thank you for your time and all the effort you've put into this thread.

I used an application (Backgrounds) to find a wallpaper. Where is the actual file that is being used as my wallpaper stored? I want to save it so I can switch back to it if I change my mind, and I cannot find the wallpaper in the Backgrounds application again.

If it helps I read on here the thin plastic film was just used for protection during delivery and was not meant to stay on. I saw where several have removed it. I also saw the custom film you mentioned but don't know outside of looking nice if they're necessary. I removed the original plastic on the back of mine, and have not replaced it.

album info is not saved?

Hi and thanks for this great thread. I have a problem that seems like it must have a simple solution, only I'm too dense to find it. I copied a bunch of music onto my Motorola Droid that was originally ripped from CDs. The album info is included on my computer. But when I added the music to the Droid, all the album info disappeared, so instead of whole albums, I just have a bunch of songs. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks for your time.

Try using a program called Double Twist to import your music and pictures as opposed to just dropping them in. It's free and available on the internet for both PC and Mac.

thats good for reading back what you received or what has been sent, but it doesn't seem to increase the size messages being composed.

A badly needed option for when you are in places where you don't use reading glasses because you need your distance vision.
