fair enough, let me know what you come up with.

Yep. I'm a MWCC Rep. Call Center all the way :)

OK, so...

For an Early Upgrade the Customer has to be on a PP of $49.99 or higher for 3+ months prior to the upgrade date which would be @ the 1 year mark+

I was thinking of the NE2 amounts which is $34.99 or higher PP = NE2 of $30
and $50 for a NE2 amount with a PP of $79.99 or higher.

This info is correct. 100%

thanks for the clarification! we both had it a little bit wrong. i do know of customers who have had a PP of 50 or higher for over 3 month and it didnt make them eligible for an EU. the one customer i remember was in collection status so maybe thats the reason why.

So, can I qualify for upgrade after 3 mos. if I change pp to 49.99 or greater? My one-yr date will be sept 4, 2010. We exercised our ne2 sept 2009. I am currently on a cheap grandfathered family plan but have been verizon customer in good standing since 2003. I really want a droidx!

Quick question. I've read conflicting answers. I have 4 lines. My main line isn't eligible for upgrade but one of my others is. Can I order an upgrade online for that line, then activate it with my main line number? Then just keep the same phone that was on that other line?
just did this on a phone for my wife. Actually stated a new line for my son, he got her old line and she got his new phone

Chris

I hope this hasn't ben posted before but I can't read through 450+ posts to find it haha!!

My sister is on Alltel in Texas and I was wondering if txts to her and calls to her are counted or if they are in network now??

Chris

should be. alltel and vzw are 1 so i dont see why not

yup just have to activate it temporarily on the line that u upgrade it on then switch it to the one you want

i stress has to because it will be locked down until you activate it on the line it was upgraded on. after that youll be fine

Thanks guys!

Just wanted to clarify.. thank you jon but the information you provided is incorrect unless it recently changed.

A customer has to be on a $59.99 plan for 4+ months to be eligible for an anual upgrade.

Edit: I stand corrected, Jon is right I appologize. I pulled up the store email and realized that it changed.
It is in fact a $49.99 plan or higher for 3+ months to get an anual upgrade sorry lol

I feel so dumb. I'm new to everything on the droid including this forum thing hahah I just wanna know how I can change my name on the market. Like when I make a comment ya know?

Thanks so much--I have now changed to a 700 minute plan and will be eligible for droidx in October--heaps better than waiting until May! Hope you guys know how much you are appreciated.

Verizon reps, thanks for taking the time out of your day to answer questions on this forum!!
I have been very patiently waiting for the release of the Droid 2 so I could upgrade to a smartphone. The last couple days I have been reading all the posts about Verizon dropping the unlimited data plan on July 29. Since I obviously want to be on the unlimited plan, that leaves me with a problem since the Droid 2 will not be released until after the 29th. What I am thinking about doing is to either go to a Verizon store, or to Verizon’s web site early next week and buy a original Droid so I can get the unlimited plan. My understanding is that I have 30 days to make sure I am satisfied with that phone, so when the Droid 2 comes out by August 23rd, I can just tell Verizon that I was not happy with the original Droid and upgrade to the Droid 2. I understand that there will be a $35.00 “restocking fee”. Is there any reason that will not work, or anything else I should know before I do this? Would I be better off going into a Verizon store to do this, or should I go through Verizon’s web site? I currently have the $39.99 450 minute individual plan, with the $10.00 texting plan on top of that. If there is anything I should know, or if there is a better way I can do this, please let me know. Thank you!!

Buyer beware - be careful. If you buy from a verizon wireless store that you find at the verizon wireless website through the "verizon wireless stores" store locator portal, they may not actually be a "verizon wireless store". :icon_eek: The store could be what Verizon calls an "indirect verizon wireless store" which do not have the same specific "worry free guarantee" as if you buy it online, so you may not be able to upgrade from a moto droid to a moto droid X. This is not to be confused with the "authorized retailers" tab, that probably has a different "worry free guarantee" and these "authorized retailers" stores definitely do not pretend to be a verizon branded store.

I've been trying to resolve my wife's hatred of her pos droid and being told that the verizon wireless store is not a verizon wireless store. :icon_evil: Funny thing, the manager at the store does not think that way. Too bad that manager does not return calls to the supervisors at *611 so we can resolve this really stupid issue.

Just be careful out there...

Thanks for the tip! How can I tell for sure if my local Verizon Wireless store is a direct store?
I don't know. I asked the manager of the store and he said they were. Talking to *611 (Verizon Wireless corporate tech support), they are not. Maybe get it in writing or obtain a copy of both of the "worry free guarantee's" fine print from VZE and from the store and compare. I had always assumed that if it was a Verizon store, it was a Verizon store. I had always bought my phones from the red badged stores and not other stores that sold cellphones for multi-vendors or big box stores...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me...

The way I've been able to tell the difference between corporate stores and resellers is that, around here at lease, the corporate stores have working models of the phones and all the resellers have dummy models.

This store had all working models, they even had interactive kiosks for the different smart phones including the Incredible, which at the time had a 25 day lead time on order for delivery...

I just ordered an Incredible from a corporate Verizon store yesterday. I got it for $200 on a 2-year contract. The Incredible is supposed to ship on or before 8/3. The Incredible is the main line on a 4-line family share account.

Is it possible to switch to a one year contract and just pay the $70 difference in contract price? I know I can do this if I cancel the phone and reorder, but I'm hoping to do it without having to move to the end of the line for the Incredible shipments.

Edit: Pls. disregard this question. I found the answer.
-------------------------------------------------------

I ordered a Droid X at a Verizon Wireless Store late last week and am waiting for it to be shipped. (I think it is a corporate store, but in light of recent posts regarding "indirect" stores, I'm not sure now.)

I am a new Verizon customer (currently AT&T). I want the Droid X mainly for internet access. I only use 6-10 minutes of voice per month and prefer not to pay $40 for so few minutes. The sales rep told me about a voice plan that provides 50 minutes per month for $20. He said I could get that plan.

When he ordered the DX he entered something into the big hand-held tablet he carried around, so I assume he entered my selected plan choices and the system must have accepted them. But now I am not sure because another rep told me the $20 plan is not available for a new account. It is a "loyalty" plan that is available to existing customers only.

Who is right? Will the VZW system actually allow the $20 voice plan when I take the DX into the store activate?

Also, does this $20 plan have all the same features as the $40 plan (long distance, no roaming fee, caller i.d, voice mail, etc.)?

Thanks.
