What have YOU done with Tasker?

K, I deleted the Wifi off profile and still no luck it connects to my network but it is not running the home or wifi on profiles.

Obviously something is wrong in the other profiles, but I'm pretty sure they are made the way it says in the link

Edit: seems to be working again, when I leave the house I will test the wifi off and report back

Thanks Nebula,

So I just put this whole profile on, Seems to work right (haven't left my house yet), now my question is, is there a way to add a new wifi connection to this (obviously I would need to scan cell towers near the hotspot)? Do I have to make 3 brand new profiles for each hotspot with the new SSID and MAC? Or can I add to what I already have?

Your first question, yes two separate profiles. But I think you realize that from the above post.

You would only need to make two new profiles. The Wifi off should work on any connection so long as you don't specify the hotspot you are diconnecting from.

Great thanks again, now though it's not working, everytime it finds my wifi and connects the wifi off profile kicks in and shuts it off. Even if I munually turn wifi on. I just double checked and all the profiles are exactly the way you laid them out

I don't know what is going on.

Ok first thing I would try, checkto make sure it says wifi not connected in the context of the wifi off profile.

Next I would try rebooting, I've noticed my Tasker get hung up after I add a few new profiles and a simple reboot of the phone fixes things.

If you still have issues send me a pm or email peterobri at gmail dot com

ok after trying my other two solutions, try scanning some more, there may be a tower your connected to that is not in the profile. Wifi On won't run unless Home is running so Home is where your problem is.

Just bought Tasker yesterday and I'm absolutely blown away by the options. However, I have not been able to get a certain task to work. I have an original Droid running 2.2.

Every time I receive a txt from my wife, I would like to have the LED flash pink, instead of the stock green. Below is what I have but, its not working:

Context
Received SMS > Sender: (wife)

Task:
Notify LED
Title: Message from Wife
Text: (none)
Number: 2
Colour: Pink
Rate: 400

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Pink and White are not possible for the LED in the Droid 1 Try another color.

Is the stock green flashing?
Are you getting the Tasker Notification in the notification bar?

Yep, the Tasker Notification is showing (I know because I've set a custom icon) and yeah, its showing the stock green LED.

Can you press the test button on the task page and see if it flashes then please? If it does its an issue with Tasker not being able to overwrite the LED command from the messenger app.

I've done that too. When I hit the 'Test' button, the notification shows up but the LED never blinks.

Turn off your screen after you test it while the notification is up and tell me if it blinks.

Nope, not blinking.

Nope, not blinking.

I can't seem to reproduce this with my phone. I don't know what else to do to help you.

Well, I don't know what changed but, I rebooted my phone and now the purple light is working when I test it.

Is there a way to make it so when I click the notification, it takes me to the txt message?

Another Tasker related question, I setup a task to let me change the song being played by clicking the camera button. Having trouble getting it to work.

Context 1:
Music (stock Android Music app)

Context 2:
Camera Button > Priority Normal

Task:
Media Control
CMD - Next
Simulate Media Button - yes

Any thoughts on that one?

Glad the other one is working, Try holding the button a little bit longer. I was having the same issues with that and holding the button a second long allowed it to work.

EDIT:
I made it a bit better by increasing the camera buttons priority to Highest and also checking Stop Event. This made it happen faster and it stopped the camera app from loading.
