While we wait ....

Make yourself feel better... go into an Apple store and pretend to be a clueless customer. Let them spend hours telling you how great apple is, then whip out a droid and ask them where the Widgets are... you'll roll on the floor laughing while you listen to them tell you how you don't need them .....

I can't do that. The apple sheep are scared of me. [emoji23]

Do people seriously use their phones on a desk, just sitting there, that often?
Mine sits next to me on my desk everyday at work. I have it connected to some external speakers to listen to podcasts or music throughout the day.
There's no need for me to actually pick it up unless I intend to reply to a notification, forum post, etc. It's easier to just leave it on my desk and occasionally glance at it to scroll through and read forum comments, notifications, emails etc.. I've been too busy lately to be constantly picking it up and setting it down throughout the day, so this method works for me personally.

Makes sense. I have a computer at work, so my phone sits in my pocket most of the day.

I'm certain they will raise my UDP. I'm on the fence about Fi and giving up VZW coverage. Though I read somewhere that Sprint roams on VZW. If that's true then Fi might have better coverage overall since it will use T-Mobile or Sprint in the few places VZW doesn't have coverage ?

At this point I'm thinking maybe sign up for Fi, and keep the Note on VZW for a few months to see how it goes.

Once I kick VZW to the curb there's like no going back.
Sprint uses similar CDMA tech to vzw, but I don't believe that these side contracts are allowed to do so. According to the fi coverage map, I could only get 2g. Sprint & tmo don't exist here. If I could rely on roaming on vzw, if think that would be indicated in their coverage map. Instead, they tell me I'll have to rely heavily on wifi.

Hmmmm... Well then It will be interesting to take both phones out (once I actually get it) and see how coverage compares. There are some remote areas where I get signal with VZW. Should be able to map out how well Fi works in those areas. Might also be able to determine if it actually does roam on VZW network as well.

I'd be glad to know if you get 4G signal on fi in areas that aren't covered by Sprint. Rumor has it that T-mobile is going to build out into the Upper Peninsula (where I live) in 2016, but neither exists here now and locals (though I've been here long enough to associate as one, I'm not a native) claim that the FCC or someone will block that because there's some rule/law/regulation that 2 carriers is enough up here. Idk if I buy that, but I'd sure like the competition.

I'd seriously consider giving fi a try if one of the 2 carriers had good service in my town and decent service elsewhere, but it's just not in the cards for me at this point. Although I spend a lot of time at home on my wifi network with speeds double what I typically get on LTE, I want LTE and to be sure I can at least make calls and send texts when I'm away from home.

Seriously. They sent every reviewer a graphite version. I ordered aluminum. They should have plenty left since they didn't send any out. Also interesting that they seem to have sent the 64GB version to all of the reviewers that I've seen comment on what storage option they got.

Every person I've seen comment about ship dates with an Aluminum are Nov 4th and past. Why is someone with a graphite or frost colored phone who ordered after me shipping before me? If I knew there was going to be a 2 to 3 week lag with Aluminum I would have bought Graphite. Huawei or Google dropped the ball again on this. This will be my last preordered phone.

It is what it is. I get where you're coming from. Since my Note 4 still works just fine, I'm chomping at the bit, but not in dire need of a new device.

I'm sure I'll pre-order again some day. I pre-ordered the Note 4 last year. It's my yearly source of excitement and anticipation now. Haha! Though I promised the wife I'd make my next device last 2 years...

I've had the MXPE in my shopping cart twice since the 6P release day. If I don't get the phone by Nov 4th. I'm canceling it.

Hate to see you leave our little group, but the MXPE is still a super solid device. If they would've approved me for financing, I'd have one right now and wouldn't even be able to think about the 6P.

I'm glad I had to wait. Since I don't NEED a new phone, the 6P is more what I want. I like the little robot look and the bulge reminds me of the DX, which I liked. I've also been using the fingerprint scanner on my Note 4 again since setting up Android Pay and am looking forward to just picking up my phone with my finger on the back and having the screen come on and unlock. Swiping on the Note can be a real PITA. I've got it set to not require it with my watch connected or when I'm at home or in my truck, but there are still occasions where I haven't used it in so many hours, or when I first get in the truck where I have to swipe my thumb or finger. Everything I see on the 6P tells me that it'll be light years ahead of this experience.

Not to mention, I'm sure the MXPE will get updates quick, but I'm banking on my new Nexus getting the monthly patches and updates faster than any non-nexus. Given the way things are going with exploits popping up left and right, it's just more piece of mind.

To each their own and I'll understand if you bail on us and go the MXPE route.

I want the 6p but I need a phone now. I keep having to reboot to get my Maxx to charge. I can't work at home because I can't be on phone calls for more than an hour before the battery stops charging.

Oh. I saw Hangouts had an update, installed it, MMS still broken. Come on Google Fix your junk!
