Do people seriously use their phones on a desk, just sitting there, that often? I've seen/read a few reviews now where that's a huge complaint about the fingerprint sensors being on the back. I almost NEVER use my phone sitting on a desk/other surface. Even if I do, I'll likely have just taken it from my pocket and already unlocked it.

The Ars Technica review in particular that I'm currently reading mentions it in a few different places. Pick the damn phone up. Haha!

I don't even leave mine sit on the arm of my recliner when I'm lounging if I'm using it or checking something.

Some people just don't make any sense. Then these websites get mad when they don't get their clicks. What happened to the world?

A little birdie told me this morning that Huawei just started offering the 128GB variant. They only have aluminum and graphite, but I'd be interested if they're sold out as well.

No Nexus protect offered, but I'm thinking I'll just get a Square Trade insurance plan if I decide I really need it. I've only ever filed 1 claim with VZW and I'm not even sure that wasn't a warranty claim, because I don't think I paid a deductible. But I figure I'll destroy the device on accident if I don't have some sort of coverage.
