YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

wow just read tthe whole 19 pages. Thanks for all the info man. cant wait for this phone to come out. Also did u do the video calling with ur wife? did it work?

Thanks for reminding me. I logged into my laptop as my wife, and clicked "Video Call" to me. It connected with no issues, but I could not see my laptop video, and the laptop was unable to show the phone's video camera feed. So Skype video calling does not work, only audio feed does.

You know, I thought the skype app was supposed to be ready Feb 28. Has anyone seen any updates on that?

Nice pics! I like your cat. She looks exactly like ours who recently passed...a Russian Blue

You are giving us the best information on the net regarding this phone...can't wait to get one of my own soon. Thanks again!!

Thanks. His name is Joba (after the Yankee pitcher) and he looks like a russian blue, but oddly has a bit of brown coloration on his fur. You have to catch him in the right light to see it.

Cat is not nearly fat enough to be named Joba. Go Rays

Going to bed for the night... as a final note for the day, I have to say, the phone recharges quite rapidly. I let the battery get down to 20% and put it on the wall charger for about 45 minutes and it was back up to about 90%.

Not to scare you but i would think it would be best to not take a picture of your cat, it has the address right on the collar

but, that was a great picture

LOL, thanks for reminding me! I was going to blur/cover it and forgot to.

I just put a black circle over the tag.

Just my thanks for your info :) I don't think you want VZ or some crazy Tbolt fan knocking at your door or someone trying to do something...

I appreciate the info on the phone, it answered most of my questions, but it also opened up more reason for me to switch sadly... I wish Verizon wasn't allowed to remove stuff that manufacturers put on there phones, they DON'T make the device, they shouldn't be allowed to control it, they only provide the services for it.

I wouldn't go making any final decisions quite yet based on this demo phone. Everything on the final shipped product may be there and work just as you're hoping. And if not, rooting + custom ROMS will. This phone is going to have a ton of dev support behind it.

Thanks Johnboy, I just finished all 20 pages also! Just wanted to say
a Big Thank you too! I am kinda bummed about the HTC sense just
like NCX! It is almost enough for me to wait for the EVO2 and switch
to Sprint! Now I not sure what to do? I have been wanting this phone
since Oct!

How's the display?

Thanks for the thread, the posts, and the info!

My only question is if yours came with the listed 1400mAh battery or the rumored larger capacity one? I'm assuming the 1400mAh but confirmation would be nice.

Just removed the battery...

Model: BTR6400B 3.7VDC, 1400mAh, 5.18Whr Li-ion Battery
Hi JB,
Please give us a reading on the display. Better than the DX? Dinc, etc. Color saturation, brightness etc. Will it attract attention? :) Thanks -

Goodnight Johnboy - You did a magnificent job and demonstrated remarkable patience with us. After weeks of what-ifs, rumors, flame wars, etc. you made my day with real time unbiased observations. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Pleasant dreams -

Just another one of the internet strangers that wanted to say thanks for sharing this info with us! Just one question, even though you do not live in a LTE area I assume that the 3g/4g is/will be auto switching. But does there look to be an on/off widget?

Just wanted to say thanks again for putting up with everyone and their questions/concerns.
Thank you for being patient and candid.
Folks, you have to remember this is a demo phone, he doesn't even have access to the billing side of it...and things like HTCSense log in and Skype should work in the near future.

I thought the pictures looked pretty decent. Not high end DSLR good, but good for a cell phone pic.

Thanks again John...I too am a systems administrator for my company so I better start hammering my VZW corporate rep...:)

Did you attempt to test Skype video over 3G or through your WiFi? I have a feeling that Skype doesn't work in a 3G area, but when connected to the WiFi network, it may work.

Well, this is all somewhat subjective, however, here's my stab:

The screen (to me) is a nice happy medium between the DX and the Samsung Fascinate. Looking at the highest brightness levels on the DX and the TBolt, the DX has slightly better contrast between colors (whites look whiter, blacks blacker, etc.), however, the TBolt has fantastic color saturation.

It's slightly "warmer" colors than the Fascinate (which I thought the Fascinate was way too oversatured in colors, so it's a good thing). I guess the best way to describe it is if they took the DX screen and merged it with the AMOLED screen, this would be the offspring. I happen to prefer the TBolt's screen to my DX.
