YEAH baby! My Demo will be here today!

I was 100% sure I wanted the BIONIC, but I'm very pleased with what I've have been reading and watching in regards to the Tbolt.. Impressed indeed! This video is about the BIONIC, and seemed very sluggish and slow in loading. Don't what that's about...

It wouldn't surprise me if MotoBlur had something to do with it.

Yes, please load me up with as many unwanted, un-uninstallable crapps as you can! Thanks

Can you point your phone's browser to the Rightware Browsermark website and run the benchmark. Maybe reboot the phone, run it 2-3 times and report your results. You can also try the Sunspider Javascript benchmark.

For some reason the Rightware Browsermark bench will not finish on my phone. It errors out. If yours finishes though, higher scores are better.

For the Sunspider benchmark, my Gingerbread ROM'd, 1.0GHz overclocked D1 averaged about 7221ms. Lower scores are better in this one. The leading class of dual-core phones are clocking in around the mid-4000s. I'm just curious how the Thunderbolt would fare.

Certainly can not be the Tegra 2. My gTablet is fast in UI, plays all Flash sites smoothly and the N64 app plays all roms smoothly I have tried. N64 app is slow on most games with the Incredible and Droid X.

Seems something else going on.

The car mount is VERY important and would be the deal breaker for me.. I use it as my GPS, and without the window mount its pretty much useless..

I'm a big fan of the ProClipUSA.com car mount system. I've written up reviews a bunch of times but they end up in closed threads so I won't bother gain now. IF you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them if I can. A bit pricey but highly customized for both car and phone that result in a sturdy and great-looking solution for mounting your phone in your car. Blows away those stupid suction-cup things. I've already contacted them to prime the pump for a TB mount. If you are of the mind, do the the same and a) it'll add to their market input and b) you'll get notified when it's for sale.

I'm sure the OP can share some insight on this too...

Well, my mother has the Droid 2, I have the Droid X, wife has the Incredible, and sister has the HTC Aria. The Motorla phones tend to perform more stiff when transitioning from screen to screen, program to program, etc. I don't know what it is, but the HTC phones just perform smooth and rather flawlessly.

Having said that, the TBolt absolutely blows away the Incredible and Aria (as it should). I don't have to press hard, the unlock motion is responsive, when opening a full screen application it's like butter.

The phone does have a Desk clock (press the time on the weather/clock widget) and the phone quickly loads that screen which I use for my alarm clock overnight. I don't see a car dock app or widget though, so we may not get a docking station. If that's the case, then there would be no reason for them putting the USB port on the left side so that I can't landscape kickstand + charge at the same time.

Interesting. Here are the most recent results:

What Android build does CM7 run? Gingerbread?

WorldOfJohnboy:

Just wanted to say you've done a valuable service to the Android community with this thread and I appreciate it, even as somebody who is not really interested in this phone.

Having said that, can you do one small favor? Can you point your phone's browser to the Rightware Browsermark website and run the benchmark. Maybe reboot the phone, run it 2-3 times and report your results. You can also try the Sunspider Javascript benchmark.

I would very much appreciate it, and it shouldn't take much of your time. I searched the thread and found nothing, and I did a google search to see if thre was a rightware benchmark for this phone and came up with nothing.

Thanks,

Brandon

First test errored out on me.

Before I rebooted, the Java test score was 7297.9ms +/- 9.5%

Wow, kinda funny. I'll have to run it again just to be sure. Otherwise I outscored the TB and the atrix. Lol

LOL, lower is better.....:rofl3::rofl3:

Last time I check 4584 is lower than the 4600 the atrix is on the chart(albeit not by much) and also lower than the 7000 one john just posted.

Fresh boot ran again 4044. +-1.1

OC'D to 1.13(which is still slower than dual core) = 3752 +-.9
