From your search:

Nexus One gets HTC Sense & Flash 10.1 with Desire ROM | Android Community

First poster to that thread:

It's not flash 10.1, it is actually an updated version of flash lite.

HTC rep showing a demo in the video below of the HTC desire saying that flash is flash lite 4 (he terms it "flash mini 4.0") @ about 3:58

http://www.phonedog.com/cell-phone-v...-hands-on.aspx

It's 10.1 compatible, but not actually 10.1, only thing released is a predev version at this time.

I hate to say this, but you can do your own research and see that the mobile version of flash 10.1, IS flash lite 4. Thats what we are all waiting on.

*sigh*

PM me if you need me to do more research for you. This isn't really relevant.

I have seen some people comment that they are going to remove Helix (from stock Droid) before the update. I just got my seven screens all set up the way I want them after quite a bit of effort. Do you think that uninstalling Helix is a wise, if not essential, move? Why? Is there a way to somehow backup my Helix settings? Just want to be prepared. Thanks!

I can't forsee why that would be necessary.

It shouldn't be. The OTA would update the HOME launcher app, and that would be it.

Though I'm not sure if it would reset that to the default, but even then you could just choose to go with helix again.

The Droid has a dedicated GPU and the Nexus does not - we may not see as much battery use from the live wallpapers as the Nexus gets.

I'm a little concerned about this, though:

My friend says live wallpapers eat her Nexus' battery for breakfast.

I remember reading a few months ago that this was a common problem. I might be wrong though. I never really looked into it because the "live wallpapers" didn't (and still doesn't) interest me.

BTW, why "live wallpaper?" Shouldn't it be "Window?" :) I mean, I've got wallpaper here in the room I'm sitting in, but if I want "live" I look out the window... Ooh look! A squirrel!!

The Live walls are not gpu powered, so expect battery drain just like on the N1.

I stand corrected.

Are we sure that the new OTA may have differences elsewhere that may result in less of a batt drain using LW?

"Release schedule is as follows:

At 11:59 pm on 3/18 9,000 more users will receive the notification to upgrade

After the first 10,000 users receive the update on 3/18 there will be a 24 hour period where no additional updates will be pushed.

On day 3 (3/20) 200,000 users will receive the update notification at 11:59pm and continue each hour until delivered to all users"

Nice, so 10k on the 18th, no more on the 19th, then 200k on the 20th.

I loved the time disputes, though CK has it right, and in the right order...

But RW-1 has the following for most of us here on the board:

Sometime on the 19th, someone somewhere will get the update.zip to Droidforums, Droid Life, etc.

Sometime on the 19th, an X number of forum users, (likely a majority of non-rooted and running stock, a smaller percentage of rooted users who went back) will download and install the update manually. :icon_ devil:

On day 3 (3/20) 200,000 users will receive the update notification at 11:59pm and continue each hour until delivered to all users.

By day 5, there will be anywhere from 3 to 37 Threads about how the 2.1 OTA sucked, didn't have this or that, or if it has been rooted yet, ROMS made off of it, etc.

By Day 7, we all will have turned to the Android 2.2, 2.5, 2.7 and 3.0 upcoming releases... :)

Android 2.1?!? sources?!? omfg cant wait, I heard this one comes with all kinds of stuff left out of 2.1! ...:icon_ banana:

ugh. messed up my own joke.

I am very happy that the official 2.1 is coming at last. Thanks CK and everyone else who brought the good news. :)

Is it naive to hope that perhaps the code was rewritten to take advantage of the Droid's GPU? I'm sure LW is still a battery hog... but maybe not quite as much?

LW is probably one of the least appealing parts of the update to me - I want battery and radio performance tweaks and the lockscreen fix - but I hate to think the GPU isn't being taken advantage of.

That was my point, until we get a look at the official VZ approved release, who really knows?

From Facebook:

The Android 2.1 upgrade for DROID by Motorola is being deployed to a small number of Verizon Wireless test users tomorrow afternoon. It is expected that the broader phased rollout to all DROID users will begin shortly thereafter—we will keep you posted. A list of enhancements included in the upgrade is available here: http://bit.ly/VZW-DroidEnhancements.
