Honestly, I don't know everything involved with it, but based on what I know about software complexity, I imagine if they shut down our ability to get leaks, they would also shut down their ability to distribute the test builds to their testers. They can't upgrade the security of 905 without installing a patch, and they can't install a patch on their test devices and still be testing the upgrade path from 905.
Again, you're just asking a reasonable question, and I'm sorry I jumped at you for it.

It's all good . If I were there, I'd just throw a PKI certification at the server. You want access right now, you'll need a PKI cert. If/When you need to later restore access to the "rest of the world" remove the PKI cert.
